Join our team and take on a pivotal role where you'll lead the charge in advancing our climate data management methods. Your mission will be to research, organize, and transform environmental and climate data into insightful and reliable resources for both our city and the public. You'll play a key role in ensuring the integrity and consistency of our climate data while creating essential reference materials for colleagues, departments, and our council. Your expertise in data analysis and interpretation, coupled with the ability to communicate findings in a clear, straightforward manner, will be instrumental. You'll also have the opportunity to identify new data requirements and prioritize tasks, making a meaningful impact on our organization's climate initiatives. - Develop queries and follow methodologies related to data management to automate reporting where possible/feasible. This includes managing ongoing processes for completing these reports, including report execution and distribution, production of reports, creation of dashboards, and reporting on key performance measures and completion of benchmarking surveys
- Organize large amounts of data and develop models that identify trends and cause-effect relationships, lead to recommendations, and measurably maximize operational efficiency
- Lead the reporting and/or visualization of complex operational or financial data so that is understandable by a wide audience; developing presentation materials as appropriate
- Provide technical expertise to support the reporting and analytics of business requirements and provide information, support and recommendations for meeting those requirements
- Review and identify deficiencies in existing reports to ensure the accuracy and completeness of reporting data
- Provide recommendations for new reporting systems or improving existing reporting functionality and processes
- Conduct environmental scans and/or benchmarking exercises to identify industry trends and potential areas of improvement
- Create the standards for research methodology to ensure that the information going to Council is accurate and factual
- Facilitate and document business requirements to support development of branch or department project business cases
- Gather and document activities related to research, continuous improvement opportunities, and/or interviews
- Provide support to stakeholders on the use of continuous improvement methodologies and tools that are used for streamlining work
- Create reference documents for other COE employees, other departments and Council to use as reference materials as they build related content for both internal and external consumption
- Coordinate work and/or project activities with shared services partners to support project delivery and/or approval

**Qualifications**:

- University Degree in Sciences, Statistics, Mathematics, Accounting, Business or Commerce OR equivalent supporting education/training on data analysis, project management, leadership, IT systems, processes improvements, business analytics, strategic planning, change management would be an asset
- Minimum of 4 years progressively responsible experience in data tracking, research, diversified office experience, presentations to senior leadership, data analysis, performance measurement, report and document writing, statistical analysis
- Expertise in data management, data analysis best practices, modeling, reporting, and performance measurement
- Profound knowledge of both qualitative and quantitative research, statistical methods, and evaluation techniques
- Demonstrated aptitude for computers, specifically in working with enterprise systems, analytic dashboards and business process/planning software
- Skilled in following complex instructions and effectively communicating ideas both verbally and in writing
- Proficient in building work relationships, presenting technical information clearly to diverse audiences, and transforming data into valuable insights for various readers
- Applied understanding of civic, departmental and branch goals, programs, and operations
- Proficient project management, leadership, and facilitation skills, coupled with excellent interpersonal abilities and impeccable attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability to effectively gather, synthesize, integrate, and interpret multi-faceted information from a wide range of sources and perspectives
- Proficient in project planning, monitoring, and management, emphasizing process design and cultural transition management
