Production Floor Manager

Job Summary:
The PRODUCTION FLOOR MANAGER will Manage, Plan & Supervise all ‘Production Activities’; Educate, Train, & Motivate all facility production staff; comply with all safety, quality and production plans and maintain the facility & housekeeping standards. Responsible for the management and coordination of all production operations. Responsible for maintaining the Preventative Maintenance program. Responsible to improve the facility’s performance in cost reductions, inventory turns, overhead utilization, production efficiency and quality performance.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for:
a. All activities involved in the planning, manufacturing, fabrication, assembly, and successful delivery of Ground & Structural Products and Services to all Clients.
b. The management of the ‘production planning, tracking’ and ‘reporting’ systems using the Company’s MRP System (Job Boss), to forecast, analyze, and utilize manufacturing information so as to increase productivity and efficiency in all areas of the production system. The Objective being to minimize costs while delivering compliant Quality
c. The creation, scheduling, and release of the ‘Production Group Routers’ and ‘Individual Travelers’ to the production floor.
d. The scheduling and coordination of the ‘release’ of inputs (materials, hardware, supplies) to the production floor.
e. The scheduling and allocation of all resources needed to ensure Quality Compliance & Ontime Delivery of all Ground & Structural Products and services in line with company procedures and policies. This includes all labor, equipment and machinery allocation needed in any of the manufacturing processes.
f. The Hiring, Training and Supervision of all production personnel and the continuous establishment of an effective and low-cost work force
g. The rate of workflow and the control of schedule in the production process; establishing control points; monitoring personnel and resources and eliminating ‘waste’ throughout the production process.
h. The development and implementation of innovative strategies to streamline all Production Processes and Factory Operations so as to continually realize cost reductions and improved efficiency performance.
i. The Production Staff’s results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, measuring and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
j. The Collaboration with Engineering, Quality control, Materials Management, and Shipping departments to establish and execute efficient production processes and workflow.
k. The Collaboration with the Preventative Maintenance Manager to ensure that all factory machinery and tooling is in good working order. To ensure that routine PM activities are being completed and reported to management.
l. The collaboration with the Finance Department to establish cost results, forecasts, budgets, and cost reduction strategies; to establish and execute reporting procedures to track, analyze and report on results
m. The Health & Safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
- Skills, Aptitudes, Characteristics and Experience:
- Experienced in managing a production facility in an Production / Manufacturing environment.o Experienced in working with ISO Quality and Production Management systems such as JOB BOSS.o Experienced in working with metal fabricated products and understands the Production Processes, Machinery, and Equipment particular focus on Welding, Bending, Swaging, Testing and shaping Tubular Metalso Experienced in working in a small dynamic company and understands how to get the most out of limited resources.o Experienced in analyzing production process performance metrics and implementing effective change to increase productivity and efficiencyo Is focused and disciplined in meeting delivery schedules and production timeline goals
- Understands aerospace product and service designs, dimensions and purposes and the related quality and engineering specifications and standards.
- Is able to lead interaction with clients and vendors to review performance metrics and to provide performance feedback.
- Is aggressive in learning and utilizing new technologies to increase productivity
- Is motivated to discover multiple solutions to resolve a production process issues
- Is dedicated to ‘continuous improvement’ in quality standards and production efficiency results
- Has strong organization and communication skills with the Production Staff and works with the other departments of the company in establishing objectives, timelines, and action plans to deliver desired outputs.
- Has strong software and computer skills
- Has strong math, analytical and statistical skills
