**Human Resource (HR) Manager**

Nak’azdli Whut’en is seeking an experienced professional to fill the position of Human Resource Manager.
The Human Resource (HR) Manager is a member of the Senior Management Team and is responsible for the full cycle HR functions and the day-to-day human resource activities by leading recruitment of new employees, attraction and retention of employees, professional development and capacity building of employees, organizational management, supporting employee relations, managing and maintaining employee data, supporting the administration of payroll and compensation, maintaining employee communications, and acting as a support and advisor to department managers. This is a fulltime permanent position onsite with option of working out of either the Nak’azdli Whut’en administration office in Fort St.
James, BC or the Nak’azdli Whut’en satellite office in Prince George, BC.

**DUTIES**:

- Develop, maintain and deploy relevant HR policies, processes and employee tools aligned to

Nak'azdli Whut’en culture and in compliance with all regulations.
- Lead all aspects of recruitment, offer preparation and employee contract negotiation, and onboarding, including office logistics, of talent to support our growth.
- Oversee hirings, carry out disciplinary actions and terminations.
- Handle all administrative tasks for onboarding, new hire orientation, and exit interviews, including entering data into HR information systems and auditing for accuracy and compliance.
- Provide an effective and dedicated HR advisory service to employees in relation to absence and health issues, conduct and capability, organizational change, and other matters.
- Develop and maintain job profiles and descriptions and organization charts.
- Manage and maintain all employee data and records, employment contracts and job descriptions, records of employment, vacation, and leave tracking.
- Develop and oversee and support the effective development, deployment and maintenance of a performance management process.
- Collaborate with managers to evaluate employee performance and pay scale accordingly.
- Follow-up on, monitor and respond to HR legal claims in collaboration with the Executive Team while consulting with legal counsel as may be needed.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources (HR), business, or a related field.
- CPHR designation, or in progress.
- Excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills, ethics, and cultural awareness.
- Resourceful, problem-solving aptitude and thorough knowledge of HR procedures and policies.
- Advanced knowledge of MS Office, payroll and employee management database systems, and comfortable learning new technical systems.
- Possess a valid BC Class 5 Driver’s Licence, and acceptable criminal record check as a condition of employment.
