The BC Coroners Service is a fact-finding, not fault-finding, agency that provides an independent service to families, communities, government agencies and other organizations. The Coroners Service is responsible for investigating all unnatural, sudden and unexpected, unexplained or unattended deaths in British Columbia. It makes recommendations to improve public safety and prevent death in similar circumstances.

The position will also design and lead, through a project management approach and working with various stakeholders, the development and implementation of division initiatives. Other responsibilities include managing business continuity planning to ensure alignment with Ministry Operations and Emergency Management BC and coordinating the organizations’ contribution to sector and corporate wide planning processes. This position is trained and appointed as a coroner and will assume investigative responsibilities when required at the discretion of the chief coroner.

**Job Requirements**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration or a related field.
- Minimum two (2) years experience prioritizing and managing multiple projects and tasks in a dynamic environment with constantly changing priorities and evolving issues, under significant time constraints.
- Minimum two (2) years experience leading project teams throughout the project lifecycle.
- Minimum two (2) years experience managing resources.

**Preference may be given to applicants with one or more of the following**:

- Master’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field.
- Over two (2) years experience prioritizing and managing multiple projects and tasks in a dynamic environment with constantly changing priorities and evolving issues, under significant time constraints within the public sector.
- Project Management Professional Certification (PMP) or equivalent.
- Preference may be given to applicants who self-identify as having Indigenous heritage (First Nations, Métis or Inuit)
