The Marketing Technology Leader will be the strategic force driving Ciena’s Marketing Technology (MarTech) roadmap, ensuring that it is fully integrated and optimized to drive maximum process efficiency and benefit across the marketing organization. The primary function of this role will be to produce, communicate and execute a MarTech strategy for Ciena.
Working alongside key leaders across the organization, this role will direct, manage and be accountable for defining and executing a comprehensive Marketing Technology vision. Partnering with stakeholders across sales, IT and marketing organizations, the MarTech leader will create a technology roadmap driving growth, effectiveness, and efficiency.
The Marketing Technology Leader works with the business to set the KPI’s of any new technology and also translates broader business initiatives into clear technology objectives and goals. This leader must be able to confidently enter business conversations with regional and functional leaders. They should also be able to identify gaps and opportunities for alignment across multiple technology stacks inside and outside of the marketing organization (ie, sales TechStack, Partner org. TechStack, Services TechStack)
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Develop, own and execute the MarTech strategy and roadmap at Ciena
- Translate business requirements into technology capabilities
- Develop and drive a MarTech lifecycle management process
- Develop and drive a Technology management process, defining clear roles for Operational versus Business administration of tools
- Implement and project manage Technology introductions and deployments
- Manage the global MarTech budget
- Collaborate with Sales Ops and Partner Ops to maximize synergies and eliminate capabilities overlap
- Collaborate with Legal/Procurement/IT/Finance organizations
- Be aware of and implement industry best practices
- Consolidate existing technology vendors when appropriate
- Manage renewals and integrations

**Knowledge/Experience**:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Engineering, Information Technology or other relevant discipline required
- 5+ years of experience in marketing, preferably within Marketing Operations, Marketing Technology or Marketing Automation
- Experience with CRM, DMP, Data Layer, Tagging and other Marketing technologies required
- Hands on experience with Marketo (Marketing Automation), SFDC (CRM), Adobe Analytics (Web Metrics), Optimizely (Content operations), Squiz Matrix (WCMS) is an asset
