**About Potash**:
In 2021, we announced a CAD $7.5 billion investment in Jansen Stage 1 in Saskatchewan, Canada, aligned to our future facing commodity strategy. Production is expected to commence in late 2026. Potash represents a new growth front for BHP as an expandable resource that can support a century or more of operations.

**About the Role**:
This is an exciting **12-month fixed term** opportunity for a senior communications professional, reporting to the Manager Communications and based at our North American headquarters in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada.

This senior, highly experienced communications role is responsible for developing and maintaining strategic and trusted partnerships with operational and functional business leaders, coaching team members and stakeholders across our Potash business, generating mastery-level content and delivering high value communications strategies that promote and protect BHP’s strategic themes and positioning.

Key accountabilities will include:

- Lead the development and implementation of communication and stakeholder engagement strategies to support the Potash growth portfolio
- Develop and manage day-to-day mastery-level employee and stakeholder communications with a strong editorial focus, set direction for peers and stakeholders, and ensure quality is controlled
- Develop high-value content on key company issues such as safety, climate change, inclusion and diversity, Indigenous engagement, winning portfolio, and operational performance
- Operate as a ‘trusted advisor’, providing strategic communications advice and delivering strategies to achieve key business outcomes
- Effectively identify emerging risks or issues with the potential to impact BHP’s reputation and understand escalation process
- Lead the development and delivery of highly effective and comprehensive multi-disciplinary issues and stakeholder management plans and strategies
- Lead strategic engagements in line with engagement and positioning plans, partnering with key senior stakeholders in the development and delivery of high value speeches, presentations, and integrated leveraging plans
- Assist the Manager Communications North America in mentoring, developing, and supporting capability and capacity growth within the team

**About You**:
Additional attributes essential to the role include:

- Tertiary qualification in communications, public relations, or a related field
- Proven ability to provide timely support to senior leaders, in line with business priorities
- Excellent writing skills across a variety of written and visual mediums
- Strong understanding of internal and external digital tools and platforms
- Ability to collaborate and build strong networks across the company and project partners
- Comfortable working autonomously to solve problems and manage issues
- An eye for design and familiarity with software such as Canva, InDesign and Photoshop
- Video production and photography capability
- Strong project and time management skills
