**Manager, Disability Benefits - (Accident & Sickness)**:
**Location: Remote - Ontario**

- collaborate with cross-functional teams and work on a variety of projects that will keep you engaged and continuously learning.**Deliver excellence - **provide a personal, accurate, professional, and courteous service and resolution to our customers.**What you’ll be working on**- Manage and lead a cross-functional team responsible for underwriting, admin, premiums and commission accounting and disability claim functions
- Lead process design and development of our management system for new products
- Provides leadership, expert consultation and solution generation to ensure the effective implementation and ongoing administration of Accident and Sickness Benefits
- Supports the division's customer service delivery promise through prompt decision making and proactive communication and service to all stakeholders (both internal and external)
- Responsible for monitoring and reporting of key benchmarks and metrics within the management system (quality, service, productivity); monitor performance and respond appropriately to market and service changes and challenges
- Lead the development and maintenance of Management Systems (process controls, metrics & reporting, training, etc.) to achieve the following objectives:business context and process learning
-performance evaluation (speed to learn, quality of work, work ethic, team work, etc.)
-credibility (with operations Ops team by helping improve the processes in their area of work)
-capacity (inclusion in our broadening cross-trained sprint capacity - even after they likely move onto other roles)
Develop, implement and review programs and policies to support operational objectives including the development of best practices and protocols.
- Participate in developing and executing training programs for new employees ensuring training presentations, job aides and procedures are kept up to date and accurate.
- Performs quality reviews identifying team and individual training opportunities. Actively participates in weekly quality control meetings.
- Fosters a positive work environment by coaching and mentoring team members; identify employee training and development needs; participate in the hiring and employment processes for team members; set employee goals and objectives, manage employee performance.
- Design and deliver management information used to evaluate and monitor financial, sales and operational performance
- Identify and escalate situations to Senior Management that present a potential high risk and provide guidance and recommendations to staff and Senior Management in the resolution of escalated issues
- **What we’re looking for you to have**:
- 5+ years work experience in Disability Management, Rehabilitation Services, Group Insurance and/or Leading an operational team
- Completion of a college diploma or university degree with a concentration in one of the following areas: Business, Accounting, Data Analytics, Health Sciences
- Combination of education or experience in data analytics, group insurance industry, process improvement and/or leading operational teams
- Well-developed analytical, decision-making and problem solving skills
- Ability to conduct research, investigate and analyze
- Ability to prioritize and balance multiple tasks or projects
- Attention to detail/accuracy
- Ability to make independent decisions with significant reputational and financial implications to the company
- Clear writing, listening and verbal communication skills
