**Bilingual Disability Claim Adjudicator**:

Empire life is looking to hire a Disability Claim Adjudicator to join our Group Operations team

**What you’ll be working on**- Set up, input and assess new claims for required initial information (Accident & Sickness - Disability, AD&D, Life, Hospital Benefits)- Review and analyze data to determine benefit eligibility and gather contract provision information- Provide ongoing and timely communication with our customers based on department protocols; provide claim status updates, request information and address claim-specific inquiries-
- Investigate, evaluate and determine eligibility for initial and ongoing payment of claims based on medical information, job requirements, non-medical factors, contract terms and department/industry protocols within established service standards- Interview claimants through telephone interviews- Ensure accurate and timely documentation of all communication with customers- Formulate and implement a detailed case management plan on each file with a focus on a timely, sustainable and safe return to work; interact with and appropriately challenge treating physicians, make referrals for independent medical assessments and to alternate insurance organizations (federal, provincial and private insurers)- Collaborate with in-house return to work facilitators to design and monitor return to work programs- Collaborate with team members to exchange ideas, gather information and offer solutions on claims- Accountable for positive file resolution and appropriate outcomes- Facilitate the timely payment of claims

**What we’re looking for you to have**:
- Completion of a university degree in anatomy, biology, kinesiology, life sciences or psychology- Relevant experience managing accident & sickness benefits- Knowledge of individual disability products- Bilingualism (English/French)- Ability to prioritize/adapt and balance multiple tasks and attention to detail/accuracy- Customer focus, service orientation- Well-developed written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills- Ability to work independently and as a collaborative team member-
- Ability to research, analyze, evaluate, negotiate, make decisions and resolve problems- Knowledge of medical terminology and Disability Management best practices/protocols- Knowledge of relevant provincial employment legislation and legal requirements-
