FS Tool Corporation is a privately held Canadian manufacturer of industrial cutting tools. In 2023 we will be celebrating our 50th anniversary providing top quality cutting tools for the wood, plastics and metal industries.

Reports To: General Manager

Direct Reports: Payroll & Benefits Administrator (1)

Specific responsibilities:

- Provides leadership and coaching to senior management, line management and staff on a full range of human resources issues, policies and practices.
- Manages and administers the recruitment process for all staff and hourly positions within the organization.
- Responsible for handling employee relations issues throughout the organization including problem and conflict resolution.
- Manages and administers the collective agreements for two bargaining units (USW) including the grievance resolution process and plays a lead role in collective bargaining negotiations.
- Keeps abreast of employment legislation to ensure organizational compliance.
- Develops and implements human resources policies and practices that support organizational goals and objectives.
- Oversees the organization’s health and safety program, WSIB claims management, coordinates health and safety training, and participates as a management member of the joint health and safety committee.
- Works in conjunction with the Payroll & Benefits Administrator and the Controller to review and authorize bi-weekly payroll as well as management and administration of group benefits.

Skills required:

- Post-secondary education in Human Resources Management, Labour Relations or equivalent experience.
- CHRP, CHRL designation preferred (or working towards completion).
- Previous experience in a HR generalist role, ideally in a unionized manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of effective human resources practices with the ability to lead and guide the HR function across the organization.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal and problem resolution skills.
- Ability to establish relationships and communicate effectively with all levels of the organization from senior management to shop floor employees.
