**About you**
You are someone with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a facilities management or operations management role. Your Facilities Management certification from an accredited college or professional organization would be considered an asset. You have knowledge of project management techniques, including planning, budgeting, controllership/ensuring compliance with standard accounting requirements, scheduling, resourcing, tracking, reporting and problem-solving to ensure on-time delivery of quality results/services for a range of diverse projects.
You have knowledge of the facilities management field, including construction practices, (e.g., for basic construction, electrical, data/telecommunications, Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC), plumbing, etc). You’re knowledgeable of workplace-related Health and Safety legislation and the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA), in order to ensure safe, accessible, functional workplaces for employees.
Fluency in English is required.
**About the role**
In this role you will:
- Support the planning and management of facility management projects of varying sizes, such as major and minor capital, leases, accommodation alterations, refurbishment, and repair.
- Supporting the planning, management, and control of all phases of each project's development and implementation.
- Managing external vendors and coordinating internal resources in the development of a detailed program of requirements (project budget and schedule, project team organization, matrix of responsibilities, etc.).
- Supporting the project expenditure approval process by seeking justifications and obtaining approval for all changes to project budget and time schedules.
- Monitoring and evaluating project progress against plans, policies, standards, and service quality requirements.
- Providing key facilities management advice to management in support of strategy development.
- Supporting the negotiations for operations and maintenance contracts with internal stakeholders and designated building management representatives.
