**Hours of Work**: 37.5 hours per week (must be available weekdays, weekends, evenings and nights)

**Start Date**: TBD
- Provides guidance and education on Landlord and Tenant Act to residents of the Putman Apartment Building;
- Work in cooperation and alongside front desk staff, Developmental Services Staff, YWCA Hamilton staff, including assigned Program Supervisor, full time, part-time and relief team members;
- Works with tenants in addressing issues or conflict in order to minimize the risk of eviction;
- Works as liaison between tenants and other departments within the organization such as Maintenance, Front Desk, Gender-based Violence Counselling and others;
- Identifies needs for support for tenants and provides referrals either internally or with other organizations and supports in the community;
- Works collaboratively with tenants (including children) in the areas of housing, legal, education, employment and mental health to establish and maintain a plan to assist them with a safe and effective path to independence;
- Conducts check ins of tenant needs and safety plans;
- Identifies needs for support on trauma and the dynamics of gender-based violence and refers to appropriate supports internally or in the community;
- Works within general rules, procedures and standards, referring issues or problems to manager;
- Keeps records on day to day happenings, enters client information/daily events into an electronic data information system for reports and statistics;
- Maintains appropriate record keeping and reporting in accordance with YWCA Hamilton policies and procedures, and department specific procedures;
- Communicates, advocates and collaborates with community agencies (e.g. courts, legal services, housing) to provide resources and referrals to tenants;
- Offers life skills programming, crisis intervention, supportive counselling, referrals and advocacy;
- Provides programming and co
- facilitates group workshops (e.g. organizing, safety plans, anger management);
- Maintains high level of confidentiality when working with sensitive and personal client, employee and contract information;
- Nurtures and forms meaningful internal and external working relationships and partnerships;
- Ensures compliance with all YWCA Hamilton policies and procedures;
- Supports YWCA Hamilton mission, vision and values;
- Performs other duties as required.

**WORKING CONDITIONS**:

- Required to be available for weekday, weekend and evening shifts as required to support tenant needs;
- Regularly works in emotional charged situations requiring resolution;
- Work environment may be hostile at times.

**Qualifications**
- Completion of 2 years’ college diploma in social work or human services or equivalent experience;
- 1 to 3 years’ experience working with crisis management, homelessness and violence against women settings or in residential apartment management;
- Working knowledge of the Child and Family Services Act and Landlord Tenant Act;
- Knowledge of harm reduction frameworks and strategies; Naloxone training an asset;
- Experience in trauma informed care, and individual and group programming;
- Knowledge and experience in safety planning relation to gender based violence and mental health;
- Experience in navigating conflict resolution through facilitated mediation and restorative practices an asset;
- Must provide a current Vulnerable Sector Police check or willingness to obtain at own cost;
- Must be able to work from a feminist, anti-racist/anti-oppressive perspective;
- Ability to work a variety of hours including evening and weekends as needed;
- Must have current Standard First Aid and CPR certificate or willingness to obtain at own cost;
- Food Handler’s, NCI, and ASIST certificates an asset;
- Knowledge of social housing practices and applicable legislation;
- Experienced with housing stability, eviction prevention and housing first principals;
- Bilingual English/French or other languages is an asset.
