**Location**: ALS Group, North Vancouver

**Reports to**: Payroll & Benefits Administration Manager

We have an opportunity in the Payroll department for a contract position for approximately 3 months.

**About the Position**:
This position is responsible for preparing and processing payroll including all data entry, preparing reports, filing, compiling data for analysis ensuring employees are paid accurately and timely.

**Specific Responsibilities**:

- Enter payroll related information in a timely and accurate manner;
- Answer all employee enquiries in a timely and professional manner;
- Print and file all payroll documents in the employee/employer files;
- Maintain employee confidence and protect payroll operations by keeping information confidential;
- Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing assigned tasks quickly and accurately;
- Assist Payroll Manager with compiling payroll & benefits information for the purposes of audits, reconciliations and other data analysis purposes as required;
- Use correct methods in accordance with the established procedures and schedules while ensuring analytical quality;
- Observe established safety regulations and comply with all ALS health and safety policies and procedures;
- Other duties as assigned.

**Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities**:

- Strong attention to detail, coupled with a high level of clerical speed and accuracy;
- Highly organized and able to effectively prioritize;
- Able to multi-task and meet multiple demands in a fast paced, deadline driven environment;
- Excellent computer skills including experience with data entry, and a proficiency in MS Excel;
- Excellent English communication skills both written and verbal;
- Strong customer services orientation;
- Able to maintain confidentiality with sensitive employee information.

**Required Qualifications**:

- 1 - 2 years administrative experience with payroll/benefits administration preferred;
- Education in accounting or payroll related study would be an asset;
- Knowledge of payroll principles and legislation would be an asset.

Physical Demands
- Manual dexterity to perform intricate and/or repetitive tasks such as keyboarding;
- Ability to sit at a desk and do general office work, which includes periodic sedentary responsibilities.
