**THE OPPORTUNITY - IT SUPPORT ASSISTANT** (F/T, 8 Week Term)

**WHAT YOU WILL DO**
Employee Training
- Consult, prepare, and develop procedure manuals for various databases for key staff positions.
- Host online Microsoft Teams and Zoom training presentations on various topics.
- Demonstrate patience when explaining technical concepts

Database Audit, Management and Procedures
- Assist in conducting an audit of inventory assets across all of Vecova and update records as necessary.
- Create database reports as required

Customer Service & Communication
- Provide courteous service in a professional manner
- Communicate regularly with Senior Leaders and supervisors, responding to needs or identifying alternatives.
- Assess workflow to reduce costs, increase efficiencies and effectively deliver services.
- Participate in consultations and meetings as required.

Help Desk, Information Systems and Structures
- Coordinate or make system (hardware, software, peripheral) upgrades or changes to support employee workflow needs.
- Provide users with required information to access technical structures including:

- materials on creating and managing passwords and files
- Resolve end-user IT issues, such as password reset, software questions, hardware problems, internet connectivity, etc.
- Perform in-person or onsite repairs on hardware, software or peripherals.
- Recognize and escalate deeper or more complex issues to IT Systems Specialist.
- Prioritize work orders/help desk tickets according to need.
- Install new systems or software upgrades, as required.

**WHAT YOU BRING**
We are looking to engage team members with diverse skills, experiences and interests. These are some of the competencies and credentials we are looking for:

- Currently studying in a post-secondary program in Information Technology and/or related field
- Proficient in help desk support including Microsoft products.
- Strong knowledge of PC hardware, software and peripherals in a Windows environment.
- Demonstrates:

- confidentiality with handling highly sensitive and confidential information
- excellent customer service skills
- excellent time management and organizational skills
- ability to work independently
- problem solving and decision making skills
- Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment.
- Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment.
- Have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation.
