**Summary**:
We are seeking an experienced, strategic, HR professional to lead Human Resources, Payroll and Benefits for our Canada locations. In this role, you will provide Strategic HR Business support to teams throughout North America, primarily Canada and the US. You will develop and implement strategies including, workforce planning, talent management, employee relations, organizational design, and the development of key talent. This role will report to the EVP of HR.
**Responsibilities**:
- Partner with senior leadership to support business goals, champion change, provide strategic advice and information on policy and compliance.
- Assure that all HR processes: Recruitment, Onboarding, Performance Management, Training & Development, Succession Planning, Compensation, Benefits and Recognition Rewards are aligned and in compliance with organizational initiatives and local regulations.
- Engage in meaningful conflict resolution and handling employee issues and concerns.
- Aide and advise leadership members on new hires and terminations.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, HR best practices, and changes in labor laws and regulations, and proactively recommend adjustments to HR policies and practices as needed.
- Foster positive labor relations with bargaining unit in the region Manage and develop a small team of Payroll and HR generalists.
**Requirements**:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, HR Management, or similar relevant field. Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum 5 years HR experience, including 2 years in a leadership role.
- Strategic, ability to develop effective HR strategies and initiatives in line with business objectives.
- High level of cross-cultural awareness.
- Experience in multinational environment a plus.
- Experience in Union environment.
- Current and in-depth knowledge of Canadian HR best practice, compliance, and legal regulations
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and project management ability and experience.
- High ethics and integrity
- Bilingual English/French Up to 25% travel
