**About the Volunteer Association**:
For more than 90 years, the St. Mary’s General Hospital Volunteer Association (VA) has provided services and funds to support the patients and families of our community. Today, a major source of the funding we raise is the net proceeds of our businesses: Madeleine’s Gift Shop, Tim Hortons, and our Vendor Program, all located in the lobby of St. Mary's General Hospital in Kitchener. These businesses allow us to make an annual contribution to the St. Mary's Hospital Foundation in support of patient care.

Some of the key skills required include:

- Experience supervising others in a management capacity.
- Problem solving and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Organization and time management skills, including experience scheduling.
- Resourcefulness and flexibility with hours
- Must be comfortable working with mínimal supervision.
- Proficiency in Microsoft software
- Some business education.

**Responsibilities**:

- Supervises and acts as resource to the Tim Horton’s Manager, Finance Coordinator, and Gift Shop volunteers (including the Managing volunteer) and acts as the liaison between these roles and the Board of Directors.
- Manages end-to-end implementation of the Vendor Program.
- Provides insight, recommendations, and support to the Board and its committees as well as to the VA’s three businesses.
- Attends and reports at monthly Board Meetings. Attends committee meetings as required.
- Monitors Gift Shop budget. Submits and files invoices. Verifies and facilitates cash deposits.
- Submits monthly Gift Shop inventory to the Finance Coordinator. Facilitates annual Gift Shop inventory count.
- Provides support in ordering and stocking Gift Shop supplies.
- Facilitates weekly cheque signing with Board Members and Finance Coordinator. Acts as second signer as required.
- Ensure hospital procedures, including health and safety procedures, are being met across our businesses.
- Ensures efficient operation of the VA office.
- Exhibits polite, and professional, and effective communication to the Board, our staff, volunteers, and members of the St. Mary’s hospital community.
- Maintains confidentiality when required.
- Other duties, including reporting and administrative tasks, as required.

**Other information**:

- Regular hours up to 15 per week spread out over at least 3 weekdays in order to be accessible for vendors and staff.
- If additional hours are required, a request must be approved by the Board President or their delegate.
- Parking will be provided through an identification badge.
- Some work may be completed remotely if necessary, however it is important for this role to have a visible presence in the hospital for meeting with those involved in the VA businesses.
