**RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Financial analysis with attention to details and deadlines, including:
- Initiate accounts according to funding agreements/contracts-
- Monitor accounts for funding availability and contract compliance-
- Review budgets and expenditures against approved spending-
- Reconcile and analyze research account balances, investigating/resolving discrepancies-
- Prepare financial reports required by various funding agencies-
- Prepare journal entries-
- Assist in coordination of audit requests- Assist with research accounts receivable, including invoicing & collections- Review and work with relevant confidential and sensitive data- Respond to financial requests from Researchers, UPEI staff and external funding agency requests- Other related duties as required

**QUALIFICATIONS**:
- Successful completion of an undergraduate degree in business with a concentration in accounting- Minimum of 3 years of related work experience- Experience in budgeting and financial claim preparation- Proven analytical and critical thinking skills- Detailed knowledge and experience working with computerized accounting systems, spreadsheets and database query programs- Proven record of providing exceptional customer service- Excellent professional, interpersonal and communication skills - verbal and written- Experience working in a university setting is not required but would be considered an asset
