**What responsibilities will you have in this role?**

Key responsibilities at the portfolio level include:

- Providing strategic advising and guidance.
- Leading strategic programs.
- Monitoring, evaluating, and reporting on programs and plans.
- Supporting institutional and annual plan development.
- Managing contractor and vendor relationships, including performance management.

Within this sphere of responsibility, the SAPM will:

- Work with cross-functional teams across the college and within the Strategic Planning and Institutional Analysis division to help prioritize and identify critical interdependencies.
- Support effective resource utilization and benefit realization across the assigned portfolio of plans and projects.
- Advise senior leaders in facilitating the development and implementation of Institutional and Annual Plans.

The SAPM will also be responsible for the oversight and management of key strategic initiatives aligned with the college’s transformation. This includes:

- Leading large-scale cross-functional integration and transformation processes across business units through the management of a suite of strategic projects.
- Providing leadership, advising, and support to department and divisional leaders in strategic project planning, execution, and evaluation.
- Advancing strategic institutional culture shifts and change initiatives using best practices and established change management methodologies.
- Maintaining acute sensitivity and confidentiality due to being privy to confidential materials and conversations relating to sensitive matters, including human resource and financial decisions.
- Recruiting and supervising external project staff and contractors, including performance management, in collaboration with Project Owners/Sponsors.
- Preparing plan/program and project related progress and financial reports and forecasts for presentation to internal and external stakeholders, including department and senior leadership.

**What qualifications do you need for this role?**
- Education at the Masters’ level from a recognized post-secondary institution in Education, Public Administration, Project Management, Business, Political Science or related field.
- Project Management (PMP) Certification is an asset.
- Process Improvement and/or Change Management; Business Analysis; Strategic Transformation training an asset.
- Minimum seven years of proven experience in an advanced management role including program/ project management, business process improvement or integrated planning, with demonstrated expertise in assessment and analytical skills.
- Demonstrated excellence and success in identifying and resolving project issues.
Excellent project development and project management skills, preparation, and management of program budgets
- Leads collaboratively by partnering with others internally and externally to engage multiple stakeholders, foster alignment, gain consensus and influence outcomes.
- Demonstrates superior communication in articulating direction and rationale, in problem solving to resolve issues and in managing crisis situations.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and success in business development; interpersonal and collaborative relationship building skills across all levels of the organization.
- Demonstrated ability to work as an effective member of a high performing team, including having experience building and growing teams.
- Demonstrated leadership in delivering excellent service to others as this is key in supporting the success of our students and our College.
- Effective ability to interact with others and deal with situations in ways that respect diverse backgrounds, experience, and styles.
- Flexibility in adapting to change and in participating in consultative decision-making processes.
- Experience in unionized environment an asset.
