**The opportunity**:
Manitoba Centre for Health Policy in the Rady Faculty of Health Sciences seeks a Research Program Manager to lead the delivery of project support to Manitoba Centre for Health Policy Faculty, Research Scientists and Affiliates. The incumbent supports the leadership of MCHP as a member of the Leadership Team. Specifically, the incumbent leads the Research Support Team (2 Senior Research Coordinators, 1 Project Manager, 3 Research Coordinators, 1 Office Assistant) in their work providing research support for government commissioned projects (5-10 per year), support for MCHP researchers attaining and deliver grant-funded research (25 projects in 2023). The incumbent, under the direction of their Associate Director, leads the design and implementation of policies and procedures for the whole project process, from identification of an idea, through feasibility and costing, implementation, delivery and completion, as well as processes for tracking and management of the program of work.

The majority of work completed by the Research Support Team is provided on a fee-for-service basis and the incumbent is responsible for allocating projects appropriately, identifying problems and coming up with solutions to resolve them independently, flagging issues to the Associate Director under agreed parameters. The incumbent also provides research coordination for a small number of complex projects, and supports researchers writing grant proposals.

**The qualifications and experience we’re looking for**:
We require a post-graduate degree, successful completion of a Project Management Certification (eg. PMP, Prince2), training in Management/Leadership (Professional Certificate (e.g. CIM) or UM Management Fundamentals or similar institutional training) completed or in progress. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

We are looking for strong management, interpersonal, and supervisory skills, including the ability to develop and manage budgets and timelines. We require the ability to connect with clients, listen to their needs, and manage their expectations, the ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with a range of different clients at different levels in organizations, the ability and willingness to learn new techniques. A satisfactory work record, including satisfactory attendance and punctuality, is required.
