Summary
We are looking for a HR Coordinator to join our team and assist in various human resources programs. The HR Coordinator will be expected to have a broad knowledge of human resources functions, from recruiting, onboarding, administration and HRIS data entry. If you have a passion for HR, are familiar with labour laws, and are looking to kickstart your career in the field, this is the place to be.
Your role as a HR Coordinator will be far from one-dimensional. You’ll work closely with the HR Team undertaking a wide range of tasks including recruitment, organizing trainings and onboarding, administering employee benefits and leaves and crafting HR policies. You will use Human Resources Information Systems to ensure all employee records are up-to-date and confidential. And you’ll also act as the main point of support for the HR team. The goal is to ensure the HR department’s operations will be running smoothly and effectively to deliver maximum value to the organization as a whole.
**Responsibilities**:
- Provide support to employees, act with compassion, and work with HR team to answer employee questions and resolve any issues
- Administer compensation and benefit plans
- Create and maintain all employee files and records in electronic and paper form
- Maintain schedules and timesheets in HRIS
- Support talent acquisition/recruitment and hiring processes
- Ownership of internal communication (gather information to share and utilize system to upload images)
- Administration and record keeping for various internal programs including safety shoe program, forklift licensing, and learning management systems
- Prepare employee correspondence including offer letters, employment letters, notes to file etc.
- Assist in organizing internal training & development activities
- Assist in the development and implementation of human resource policies
- Gather and analyze data for HR metrics reporting, like time to hire and employee turnover rates
- Support annual employee performance review and other performance management processes.
- Coordination of various events and engagement activities
- Ensure compliance with labour regulations such as the ESA, OHSA and AODA.
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements and skills
- Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or relevant field
- Understanding of general human resources policies and procedures
- Proven experience as an HR Coordinator
- Good knowledge of employment/labour laws
- Outstanding knowledge of MS Office; HRIS systems (e.g., Ceridian Dayforce) will be a plus
- Excellent communication and people skills
- Aptitude in problem-solving
- Desire to work as a team with a result driven approach
- Additional HR training will be a plus
