Everybody has a story, and you know exactly how to find it. It’s about truly connecting with people—putting yourself in their shoes, understanding their journey, and building trust. As Associate Managing Editor of
_AMA Insider_, a magazine that reaches more homes than any other print publication in Alberta, you’ll do just that. You’ll coordinate the development and fulfillment of our strategic editorial and communication plans, while supporting the overall content strategy for the Association. You’ll also contribute to the Corporate Communications & Community Engagement team, flexing your storytelling and interviewing skills to share messages that matter to our staff and members. No two days will be alike—and you wouldn’t have it any other way

**WHAT MOVES YOU**
- You understand how to integrate content across print and digital channels as part of a larger content strategy.
- You’re an excellent editor with an eagle eye for grammar, typos, and accuracy.
- You have natural instincts about storytelling, knowing just the right threads to tug on.
- You're committed to staying on top of best practices and emerging trends in online and offline content generation.
- You're a pro at creating lasting partnerships with stakeholders; collaboration is the name of your game.
- You’re a proud “word nerd” who knows the difference between license and licence.
- You want to be part of a team and organization focused on creating meaningful change in our communities and to share those stories with our members.

**WHAT YOU'LL DO**
- Report to the Director, Corporate Communications.
- Be responsible for the timely delivery of each issue of _AMA Insider._
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to determine an editorial lineup (online and print) that will be relevant to AMA’s key member segments and advance our strategic priorities.
- Act as a primary liaison with the publisher, ensuring our strategic objectives are being addressed.
- Maintain and create an editorial calendar of fresh online content, supporting the development and maintenance of AMA’s overall editorial calendar and content strategy.
- Research, write and edit content—including columns, features, eNewsletter content, promotional copy, and social media posts.
- Measure the performance of magazine content with analytics reports, while looking for opportunities to nurture engagement and ensure continued success.
- Act as an in-house advisor and consultant to internal stakeholders on print and online magazine-related matters, including internal advertising issues.
- Coordinate reviews and approvals through all stages of production for each print issue, and for all online content, while adhering to firm publishing deadlines.
- Assist in establishing style guides and ensure adherence to those standards in all produced work.
- Maintain a good working relationship with our publisher, suppliers and other industry partners.

**WHAT YOU'VE DONE**
- You have a Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism or a related field.
- You’re no newbie—you have at least five years’ experience with writing and editing (print and online) with an established magazine publisher.
- You have experience as a column writer or magazine contributor, preferably in the lifestyle category.
- You know all the ins and outs of publishing, including, advertising, design, graphics, and photography.
- You demonstrate a strong understanding of content development through multiple channels. Bonus points if you’ve worked on a podcast or two
- You’re an experienced interviewer.
- You’re a dynamo when it comes to problem-solving, planning and time management.
- You’ve worked in positions that required strong multi-tasking skills, a high level of organization, and an eye for detail.

**WHAT YOU'LL GET**
- Competitive salary.
- Vacation pay is added to each paycheque.
- Benefits if you choose to receive them (with payroll deductions).
- Great AMA discounts.
- Unlimited learning opportunities.

We thank all applicants for their interest; however, only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
