**Role Responsibilities**:
The TEC Ministerial Correspondence Unit (MCU) is looking for a dynamic wordsmith with masterful skills in writing, editing, and interpersonal relationship building to join our team. If you are ready to take your writing, editing, and technical skills to a new level, we want to hear from you

As the Writer/Editor, you will work with team members within the MCU to provide the Premier, Minister, MLAs, Deputy Minister, and department staff with quality information and correspondence within tight timelines.

You will provide coordination, support, and editing services to Ministry staff, and work within the policies and guidelines set out in the current style guides, including department-developed resources, cross-government guidelines, and the Canadian Press Stylebook. You will also act as a resource for technical knowledge of generally accepted communications practices and procedures, as well as ministerial preferences.

Your responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

- Editing content, and when necessary, writing content, using information provided by ministry staff, while ensuring conformity to the Correspondence Manual, templates, and standard messaging.
- Drafting responses to incoming public inquiries and assigning to division staff to complete and send responses.
- Critically reviewing and evaluating incoming materials to ensure all necessary content is provided in the response, and ensuring the response aligns with the ministry's current policies and strategic direction.
- Providing leadership and guidance to department staff on AR processes.
- Supporting the development and maintenance of processes and information systems to continually improve and enhance the quality and timeliness of the department's correspondence and other documents.

**Qualifications**:
Required:

- A cover letter demonstrating how your skills and experience relate to the role. Your cover letter will be used to assess your writing style and expertise in written communication.
- A related university degree (e.g., Arts, Education, Communications, Journalism, Political Science, Public Relations, etc.), supplemented by at least two (2) years of related experience in writing and editing.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with a history of approachability, tact, and political sensitivity.

Assets:

- Knowledge of legislative process, as well as department legislation, policies, programs, and projects.
- Familiarity with the Canadian Press Style Guide.
- Working knowledge of the Action Request Tracking System (
