**COORDINATOR, CRUISE AND SECURITY OPERATIONS**

**Ceres Terminals Canada** (now known as **SSA Marine Canada**) is the terminal manager for Canada’s largest cruise port at Canada Place and provides stevedoring services for RoRo ships. Ceres has a long history in professional marine terminal operations and stevedoring beginning in 1958. Over the years, Ceres has expanded with operations in Canada, the US East, South Atlantic and Gulf coasts along with the US West Coast.

**The Coordinator, Cruise & Security Operations, **assumes a pivotal role in overseeing the comprehensive coordination of cruise, security, and facility operations. This role involves adeptly handling ground transportation and executing operational plans, contributing to the seamless functioning of a premier cruise terminal facility. The primary objective is to enhance day-to-day

cruise operations, ensuring an exceptional passenger experience that aligns with client expectations. The Cruise and Security Operations Coordinator carries out a range of operational and administrative responsibilities independently and collaboratively within a team, all aimed at delivering superior service to clients and cruise guests.

**RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACTIVITIES**:
**Strategic Planning 15%**
- Utilize observations of terminal and security operations along with data collected electronically to identify issues and propose effective solutions.
- Create and edit the Passenger Threshold and Prediction Model through detailed data collection. Complete regular maintenance as the schedule and passenger volumes are updated. Send updates to internal and external stakeholders to use for budgeting and scheduling.
- Create berthing schedule templates for use by local SSA Marine departments and Vancouver Fraser Port Authority (VFPA).
- Complete various cruise documents such as the Operations Plan, Ground Transportation Plan, and End of Season Report. Create and edit visual concepts for various passenger and vehicle flows including maps, graphics, charts, and diagrams to be included in the above documents. Update the documents with any operational changes and improvements.
- Review and suggest improvements for terminal signage (electronic and static signs). Develop signage layouts, playlist and schedules.

**Terminal Operations Execution 30%**
- Monitor cruise terminal operations, including passenger flows, vehicle traffic, and Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) and US Customs and Border Protection (US CBP) processing.
- Ensures specific preparation and setup tailored to the expected passengers and ships for the following day's operation.
- Ensures the readiness of cruise line representatives and equipment for the transition from disembarkation to embarkation.
- Collaborate with other coordinators to maintain a comprehensive daily log of operating events for distribution to VFPA.
- Provide support to the Security program when required.

**Financial Responsibilities 10%**
- Create and maintain budgets for use by local SSA Marine departments and VFPA.

**HSSE (Health, Safety, Security and Environment) 10%**
- Attend matters of security, emergencies, and general passenger operations, to ensure compliance with regulations set by various governing bodies. Any critical issues are escalated to management.
- Participate in the Health and Safety Committee.

**People Management (SSA Marine and Contracted) 25%**
- Monitor the training, performance, and scheduling of VFPA Traffic Attendants, ensuring compliance with regulations and contractual obligations.
- Develop and deliver ground transportation training to cruise representatives and external stakeholders.

**Other 5%**
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by Management.

**KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES**:
**Knowledge**
- Post-secondary training or minimum of one (1) year experience in a cruise, operational, and/or security environment or equivalent combination of education and experience in a related field.
- Knowledge of cruise facility operations.
- Knowledge of environmental, safety, security, and corporate compliance practices.
- Experience in a fast-paced working environment is an asset.

**Skills**
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with team members and external groups.
- Superior organizational skills, time management and problem-resolution skills.
- Demonstrates leadership skills within an industrial unionized environment.
- Strong technical skills (Microsoft suites and Adobe Creative Cloud software).
- Exceptional writing skills.

**Abilities**

- Effectively communicate and provide direction to individuals and/or groups.
- Direct and follow safe work practices and identify and facilitate operational training.
- Strongly adhere to environmental, safety, security, and corporate compliance practices.
- Must have a flexible work schedule with availability to work weekends, holidays and shifts that start as early as 6:30 am.
