Community Engagement Coordinator

**Purpose**:
The Community Engagement Coordinator role supports the Associate Director with growing and maintaining a community of startup founders, venture capital leaders, and other members of the innovation ecosystem for the Office of Innovation and Entrepreneurship. The role leads in the development, implementation, and improvement of new and existing programs that support a portfolio of startups that are founded by Schulich students and alumni. The role is responsible for the design, planning and implementation of multiple programs, including liaising with both internal and external partners, sponsors, students and alumni.
**Education**:
University degree in business or a related field or an equivalent of 4 years recent experience (defined as within the last five years) working at York University and performing the same or similar tasks. This education equivalency is in addition to the experiential requirements outlined below.
**Experience**:
Two (2) years related project coordination, community engagement, event planning, and communications experience is required.

Effective analytical skills, including the ability to collect and analyze data and prepare written reports for various audiences, in a variety of formats.
Effective organizational skills including ability to set priorities, multi-task and handle a variety of work assignments. Ability to effectively deal with competing demands and deadlines.
Ability to work independently and cooperatively as a member of a team.
Ability to exercise good judgment and flexibility in an environment of continuous change and process improvement.
Ability to work independently and as a member of a team in an environment of high volume and competing priorities.
Ability to adapt to new and emerging technologies.
Intermediate MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) skills, including demonstrated knowledge of functions/formulae, creating queries and reports, filtering, sorting, and linking (mail merge). Knowledge required:
Knowledge and familiarity with event, project management, and relational database software.
Knowledge of online/web-based content management systems and social media platforms, such as Wordpress, Mailchimp, LinkedIn, Instagram.
