Reporting to a Manager leading one of the practice areas, the Community Services Coordinator (CSC) is responsible for working in TCHC communities to initiate, promote, implement and coordinate a range of tenant programs and services. CSCs bring a broad range of knowledge and experience to this position and are assigned to different work teams or practice areas based on the needs of tenants and the communities.
**What you'll do**
**General Responsibilities**
- Play a lead role in promoting the needs and interests of tenants and ensure these interests are integrated in the planning, development and implementation of local plans to support healthy, engaged and inclusive neighbourhoods
- Identify service gaps not currently filled by stakeholders and providers. Develop opportunities to bridge these gaps through partnerships and linkages with community based agencies, social services, private sector and other stakeholders
- Work across business units as a champion and integrator, problem solver and in-house resource available to support shared outcomes and cross functional priorities
- Accountable for meeting quantifiable targets that support the locally developed plans and corporate strategies
- Develop work plans, regular reports, updates and evaluations documenting partnerships, programs, and case coordination
- Provide information, data and expertise on an as needed basis and participate in the development of corporate strategies, programs and initiatives as required
- Utilize existing tools and develop a variety of new tools to support evidence-based decision making and to monitor the effectiveness of strategies and programs
- Provide leadership and guidance to student interns as well as part time front line workers who assist in delivering local programs
- Promote human rights principles, recovery principles and an anti-oppression framework that advances TCH’s human rights and equity policies
- Other duties as assigned
**Specialized Responsibilities - Tenant Engagement and Community Development**
- Build an understanding of the local community, emerging issues and opportunities by developing a composite picture of TCHC, neighborhood demographics, conducting environmental scans, identifying community assets and needs and developing and participating in community networks, coalitions and local planning and information sharing forums
- Promote tenant leadership and tenant skills development in adults and youth and support the advancement of local informal and formal tenant organizations with mandates to connect neighbours and contribute to their communities. Skill development includes youth leadership, governance, financial management, planning, conflict resolution and partnership development
- Support and engage tenants to implement tenant-led participation systems which include; Tenant Associations, council development, Tenant Directors and elected representative systems
