On May 5, 2021, Toronto City Council approved the creation of the Toronto Seniors Housing Corporation (“TSHC”) to provide seniors with safe, well-maintained homes and improved living conditions, services and experiences. TSHC will interact with and support senior tenants in new ways, with the goal of ensuring seniors can age in place with dignity and in comfort. On June 1, 2022, all 83 Toronto Community Housing Corporation (“TCHC”) seniors’ buildings transitioned to be managed by the new Toronto Seniors Housing Corporation. The new corporation will continue to be focused on meeting the needs of senior tenants through the Integrated Service Model.

TCHC will continue to own the buildings and be responsible for major capital. TSHC will lease the buildings from TCHC and be responsible for minor capital and maintenance. TSHC will be entering into agreements for shared services where appropriate with TCHC and TSHC will be focused on tenant facing issues, including health and social supports.

**Position Summary**
Are you a dynamic, service oriented individual with experience in community development, tenant engagement and leadership along with partnership and program development, who is eager to learn and expand on current skills within a Seniors Social Housing Context ? If this sounds like you, then we have an opportunity you won’t want to pass up In this role you will support senior tenant communities across the Toronto Seniors Housing Corporation.TSHC. Reporting to the Access & Support Manager, the Community Services Coordinator (CSC) is responsible for working across TSHC communities to initiate, implement, coordinate and evaluate a range of tenant programs and services. CSCs bring a broad range of knowledge and experience to this position and will be assigned a portfolio of buildings to provide community development, tenant engagement and tenant leadership support to meet the needs of seniors tenant communities through planning, developing and monitoring relevant programs and partnerships.

We currently have CSC positions with a community focus within the Toronto Seniors Housing Corporation, consisting of 83 TSHC buildings offering social housing to approximately 15,000 tenants that are 59 years and older.

**Responsibilities**

General Responsibilities
- Play a lead role in promoting the community needs and interests of tenants and ensure these interests are integrated in the planning, development and implementation of local plans to support healthy, engaged and inclusive neighborhoods
- Identify community programs and services gaps not currently filled by stakeholders and providers. Develop opportunities to bridge these gaps through partnerships and linkages with community based agencies, social services, private sector and other stakeholders
- Support Alignment to the new tenant engagement and leadership model
- Accountable for meeting quantifiable targets that support locally developed plans and corporate strategies
- Develop work plans, regular reports, updates and evaluations documenting partnerships, programs, and other community initiatives
- Provide information, data and expertise on an as needed basis and participate in the development of corporate strategies, programs and initiatives as required
- Utilize existing tools and develop a variety of new tools to support evidence-based decision making and to monitor the effectiveness of strategies and programs
- Provide leadership and guidance to student interns as well as part time front line workers who assist in delivering local programs
- Work across business units as a champion and integrator, problem solver and in-house resource available to support shared outcomes and cross functional priorities
- Promote human rights principles, recovery principles and an anti-oppression framework that advances TSHC’s human rights and equity policies
- Other duties as assigned

Specialized Responsibilities - Tenant Engagement and Community Development
- Build an understanding of the local community, emerging issues and opportunities by developing a composite picture of TSHC, neighborhood demographics, conducting environmental scans, identifying community assets and needs and developing and participating in community networks, coalitions and local planning and information sharing forums
