**Job Summary**
The Unit Aid position in the Emergency Department will contribute to the improvement of the workflow efficiencies on the unit and increase the capacity for nurses to focus on clinical work.

**Qualifications**
- Minimum 1-year work experience
- Grade 12 graduate

**Primary Responsibilities**
- This new role incorporates non-clinical tasks and activities - such as room setup for admissions and stocking nursing cart supplies - that support the clinical staff to dedicate more time at the bedside.
- Checks quantities against purchase orders and reports any discrepancies.
- Responsible to maintain a clean, orderly, organized environment to provide a safe working area.
- Assists in maintaining stock levels, regarding accuracy in filling requisitions and in receipt of supplies
- Responsible for verifying and returning unwanted items from the Emergency Department.
- Getting rooms ready after clean: medical supplies check, equipment check
- Supply rooms
- Managing supplies of O2 tanks
- Receive and organize non-catalog medical supplies
- Arrange nursing carts and keep them stocked
- Fast-track supplies - notify when stock is low on boots and crutches
- Support ED staff with medical supply needs
