Who we need:
Reporting to the Accounts Payable Team Supervisor, the Accounts Payable Associate is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of accounts payable transactions for our organization. This position maintains financial records, verifies invoices, and coordinates payments to vendors, suppliers, and other business partners, in alignment with our corporate strategic imperatives. This role contributes to a working environment where all team members can be their best selves, grow and thrive, to support our corporate mission of championing student success.

What you will do:

- Process accounts payable transactions, including verifying, coding, and entering invoices into the database.
- Review invoices for accuracy, completeness, and proper authorization, match invoices with purchase orders, receiving reports, and other supporting documentation.
- Communicate with vendors to resolve discrepancies, clarify billing issues, and ensure timely payment.
- Prepare and process electronic payments., Such as wires, ACH and EFT
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any outstanding balances or discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounts payable records and documentation.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes, including preparing accruals and reconciling accounts.
- Collaborate with internal departments, such as procurement and finance, to resolve payment-related inquiries and issues.
- Support the accounts payable team in other administrative tasks and special projects as needed.
- Contributing to a positive corporate culture that supports equity, inclusion, learning, and wellness.

What you bring:

- 2+ years of experience in accounts payable.
- Bachelors Degree in a related discipline.
- Solid understanding of basic accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency in using MS Dynamics 365 or similar enterprise level accounting software is an asset.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and documentation.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to resolve payment-related issues effectively.
- Verbal and written communication skills; experience with MS Office (Power-Point, Word, Excel. and Teams)
