Trangs Group, a leading food manufacturer and distributor based in Vietnam, is renowned for its extensive capacity in producing finger foods, value-added seafood, and innovative vegan and gluten-free products. With a global sales and distribution network, we cater to major retail and food-service clients.
Opportunity Overview:
Join our dynamic team in Garden Grove, CA, as a Business Development Manager. This is an exciting chance to showcase your skills within a small team environment and contribute to our growth beyond the startup phase. Our US office primarily serves retailers in the United States, with additional engagement with select Canadian customers, supplying private label products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Relationship Building:
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers through meetings, calls, presentations, and product samplings.
- Act as the primary point of contact for our customers.
- Business Development:
- Proactively reach out to supermarket buyers, product developers, and technologists for introductory meetings.
- Lead meetings to showcase the company's capabilities, history, and product portfolio.
- Ensure the company is considered in customers' future bids/tenders.
- Product Development and Launch:
- Develop and introduce new products to customers.
- Oversee onboarding processes, managing sample requests, feedback, and changes to meet customer expectations.
- Negotiate commercial agreements and oversee the sales and product process from concept brief to product launch.
- Market Expansion:
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities, focusing on major US and Canadian supermarkets, club warehouses, and food service channels.
- Develop and implement sales and marketing strategies to drive growth and achieve revenue targets.
- Collaboration and Research:
- Conduct market research to stay abreast of industry trends and competitor activities.
- Collaborate with internal teams (R&D, manufacturing, technical, logistics) to ensure customer needs are met with existing and new product development.
- Management and Representation:
- Oversee samples from suppliers, managing pick-ups, deliveries, and quality control.
- Attend industry events and trade shows to network and represent the company.
- Prepare and deliver sales presentations and reports to senior management.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum 3 years in sales and/or business development within the food industry, demonstrating a proven track record of success.
- Skills: Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Proficient in project management and presentation tools (PPT, Word, Excel).
- Autonomy: Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Language: Some knowledge of Vietnamese is advantageous.
- Travel: Must be willing to travel domestically and internationally.
