Support Coordinator

**Role Summary**
**Organizational Status**
The Support Services Coordinator (SSC) will report directly to the Support Services Manager, thereafter to the Executive Director. The SSC will work with the patient community including individual PCFC members, patients, partners, support groups, and support group councils across Canada. You will be required to deal with sensitive matters that require tact and discretion given their direct involvement with the patient community. The role is a 35 hours per week full-time position.
**Work Performed**
The Support Services Coordinator is responsible for key areas in the Support Services Department and is expected to perform duties that support the operations of the department effectively and efficiently.
This will include the facilitation and maintenance of:
- Reef Knot Kit educational materials,
- Monthly newsletters (Support Services),
- Coast-to-Coast support group and webinar program,
- Butts in Motion, Butts in Yoga, and other healthy lifestyle initiatives
- The BC Support Group Council,
- Nationwide meeting reminders, and
- The hybrid equipment program
This will occur through:
- Assisting the Support Services Manager and Executive Director with the writing, design, deployment, and receipt of surveys, as well as the collation of data.
- Assisting the Support Services Manager in designing and updating marketing and informational Materials.
- Monitoring and curating support services websites’ (Wix-based) content, updating as required.
- Assisting the Support Services Manager with Support Group Conference organization and implementation, as well as third party awareness booth coordination, administration, and organizing of swag, materials, and liaisons, including the opportunity to liaise at said booths.
- Attending and working at all Foundation events when there are no conflicts with existing support service obligations.
- Other reasonable duties as assigned by the Support Services Manager or Executive Director.
**Preferred Qualifications**
- High school graduation and at least 4 years of relevant work and/or educational experience required.
- Degree or significant coursework in related area such as health sciences, public health, social work, gerontology, or similar is preferred, including experience researching peer-reviewed materials.
- Knowledge of the Canadian healthcare system, social determinants of health, Indigeneity, and inequity preferred.
- Ability to work with all members of the community without bias or discrimination and in a courteous, calm, and empathetic manner.
- Experience using Zoom required.
- Experience with social media (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube) including the use of Canva to create graphics is an asset.
- Experience with researching and finding succinct and reputable resources using library databases.
- Ability to be thorough, accurate, organized, and have a high level of attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize and work effectively under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Ability and experience managing multiple projects at a given time.
- Ability to work effectively with mínimal supervision, independently or in a team environment.
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing, including the ability to write correspondence in clear and concise ‘business English’ and more informal language when appropriate.
- Ability to cope with changing and conflicting priorities, and change.
- Ability to exercise initiative, tact, and judgment and maintain privacy and confidentiality.
- Must be available to work evenings 3-4 times per month for scheduled meetings.
**Supervision and Judgment Exercised**
The Support Services Coordinator must be able to work with mínimal supervision and exercise good judgment and decision-making regarding priorities and activities. Errors in judgment can jeopardize patient relationships and the Foundation's reputation.
**Supervision Given**
The Support Services Coordinator will be expected to work with university interns/practicum students during the terms they have been hired. They may be expected to provide supervision to interns in a mínimal capacity.
**Compensation/Benefits**
Pay: $45,000.00-$55,000.00 per year
