**Description**:
As Red Deer Polytechnic continues to engage with our diverse stakeholders and make an impact within our communities across Alberta and abroad, we are seeking an individual for the integral role of Vice President, Development and Partnerships.

A member of the Executive Leadership Team (ELT), the Vice President, Development & Partnerships (VPDP), guides the strategic and operational direction and performance of Red Deer Polytechnic (RDP). The VPDP is focused on enhancing RDP’s programming, partnerships, business opportunities and investments and is specifically accountable for overseeing institutional activities in the areas of marketing, and communications, applied research, international programming, extended education, and institutional planning.

The VPDP’s objectives are to strengthen the Polytechnic’s brand, reputation, and output and by extension, its ability to leverage existing lines of programming and business. The incumbent works across their portfolio to develop strategies to identify new revenue generating opportunities and platforms, drawing on other areas and organizational resources as required, while implementing institutional systems to ensure that the Polytechnic’s various business development activities are focused and coordinated.

This role is critical to delivering on the institution’s strategic goals related to sustainability and reputational promotion, while fulfilling the institution’s mission to enrich the intellectual, economic, cultural, and social development of Central Alberta.

**Knowledge and Skills**:

- 10-15 years of experience in a senior-level administrative position, preferably within a post-secondary environment. Experience includes a background in strategic and operational planning, business development and fund raising, and risk and resource management
- A demonstrated understanding of both the public and private sector
- Demonstrated previous success in community involvement/leadership
- Well-developed leadership capabilities in a highly complex and demanding environment
- Proven experience initiating and effectively leading change, strategic planning, and corporate performance
- Noted achievement as a strategic, innovative, and results-oriented leader
- Demonstrated ability to conduct government policy and corporate business plan analysis and to write proposals, concept papers, reports, and other documents
- Demonstrates a consistently high level of leadership and integrity
- Ability to be a collegial and transformative leader who values openness and accountability; is accessible and engaging; and is committed to building trust, transparency, and collegiality within the institution
- Demonstrated negotiation and conflict resolution skills
- Demonstrated analytical, research, and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated effectiveness in coaching and mentoring direct reports and colleagues
