**THE OPPORTUNITY**
As the Controller, your role entails a comprehensive oversight of the financial activities across their suite of companies. You play an instrumental role in managing accounting functions, financial reporting, budgeting, and fortifying internal controls. **KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
As the Controller you will be responsible for:
Leadership:
- Lead a team of accounting professionals and administrators.
- Provide strategic financial guidance to senior management of cross-functional teams, helping to inform key business decisions and drive profitability.
Full Cycle Accounting:
- Manage all aspects of the group of company's day-to-day accounting operations for multiple businesses, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger activities.
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, reports, and forecasts for senior management and external stakeholders.
- Assist with the annual budgeting and forecasting process, working closely with department heads to analyze financial performance and identify areas for improvement.
Software and Technology:
- Assist with the integration and optimization of NetSuite accounting software across all companies.
- Stay informed of industry trends and regulatory changes to ensure best practices in accounting and finance.
Financial Integrity and Compliance:
- Collaborate with external auditors and tax advisors to ensure compliance with statutory requirements and timely completion of audits.
- Develop and implement internal controls to ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies.
- Cultivate and sustain strong working relationships with current and future financial institutions.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of financial information to protect operational integrity and trust.
**QUALIFICATIONS**
As the Controller, you will bring:
- Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation.
- A minimum of 8 years of full cycle accounting experience.
- Proven leadership experience, with a minimum of 4 years, guiding teams to achieve high performance.
- Strong understanding of Canadian financial regulations and accounting standards.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Proficiency in financial software and MS Office suite with advanced Excel skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
**CRITERIA**
- Full time, Monday to Friday 8.00 am - 4.30 pm.
- Work outside standard hours will likely be required.
- Flexibility for a hybrid work environment.
- Sitting at a desk for prolonged periods.
- Extended screen time.
