**HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGER**

We are seeking an approachable, enthusiastic, and organized Human Resources Manager to work with our leaders to develop and implement innovative best practices to support HR and company strategies. The Human Resources Manager will be responsible for creating an HR strategy, day-to-day HR operations, employee relations, employee benefits management, etc.

Responsibilities include:

- Coach and support managers in all aspects of employee relations and employment law including providing support and guidance in disciplinary and grievance cases, and performance management.
- The ability to develop corporate plans for a variety of HR matters such as compensation, benefits, health, and safety, etc.
- Support the human factor in the company by devising strategies for performance evaluation, staffing, training, policies, and development, etc. that will align over multiple locations.
- Responsible for labour relations function including, but not limited to, contract administration and interpretation, grievance and arbitration resolution, contract, and other negotiations with Union staff representatives.
- Oversee the recruitment and retention of staff including identifying staffing needs and hiring potentials based on budget, orientation and training, pre-screening, and background investigation.
- Plan, monitor and implement employee performance appraisals. Train managers on appraisal system.
- Responsible for Ministry of Labour required medical monitoring, all required reporting, liaison with the Industrial Clinic, Workers Compensation Board, and injured employees.
- Ensure all payroll actions are completed accurately and timely.
- Analyse wage and salary reports; create a comprehensive and competitive compensation program that is industry specific and aligns with organizational objectives.
- Act as Pension Administrator for regulatory filings, governance, and other fiduciary responsibilities.
- Identify legal requirements and government reporting regulations that affect the human resource’s function. Ensure organization is in compliance with legal requirements.
- Establish and maintain employee benefit programs such as life, health, and dental insurance, pension plans, vacation and various leaves of absence, STD, and LTD.
- Work in conjunction with the North America HR team to ensure consistency with HR initiatives, policies, and procedures.
- Supervise the Human Resources department employees.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Human Resources or related field.
- Minimum of 7 years Human Resources experience in a unionized, manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of employment law, compensation, organization planning, recruitment, organization development, employee relations, safety, employee engagement, and employee development.
- Certified Human Resources Leader (CHRL) designation a plus.
- Outstanding interpersonal relationship building and employee coaching skills.
- Comfortable presenting complex business to senior leaders in a clear and compelling manner.
