Premier Built Garages is hiring an Outside Technical Sales Representative. The Business Development role’s primary objective is to foster current business and expand the business portfolio in Edmonton with further growth in other Canadian cities in the future. This will be achieved by working with the Garage Superstore team to learn the specifications and sales opportunities in the current portfolio and prospecting new customers. The incumbent in this role will have knowledge in construction, building products and interior finishing. This is a sales position and there will be metrics in place and accountabilities to ensure clear expectations for achieving specific objectives.

**Responsibilities**:
Client Identification and Acquisition
- Prepare for and meet current customers to determine their needs and better understand their business. Demonstrate knowledge of the industry, product, pricing, competition and develop opportunities to increase sales
- Maintain diligence with call planning, follow ups and strategizing.

Customer Service
- Visit clients job sites to measure, assess the job scope and site preparedness. Maintain continuous contact with customers throughout the sales process and resolve any problems
- Follow up that deficiencies are corrected to the satisfaction of the customer, including follow up with trades and suppliers that material has been ordered and work is scheduled
- Act as a liaison and support between construction staff and customers

Administrative
- Estimate and provide pricing when possible.
- Ensure that all pricing changes or adjustments are communicated in a timely manner to customers
- Schedule trades to complete the scope of work necessary
- Maintain accurate and current records of contracts
- Assist with collection and submission of payments for processing to AR

**Qualifications**:

- Strong communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills. Positive, optimistic approach
- Strong experience building relationships with and selling to senior level managers, owners, contractors and buying decision makers
- Comfortable with and proven success with customer visits
- Superior customer service focus and attitude
- Willing and able to work independently
- Ability to problem solve and present technical product information
- Understand the sales process; comfortable with call planning and reporting
- Have met or exceeded sales expectations
- Must have a valid Alberta Driver’s license, reliable transportation, auto insurance and be willing to use personal vehicle for business

Technical
- Building industry or trade experience is preferred.
- High level understanding of construction and building methods is preferred.

Other
- Good computer skills; comfortable with Excel, Word and Outlook
- Excellent English communication skills and capacity to influence sales, in person, over the phone, with customers are various levels
