**Responsibilities**

The **Cyber Security Specialist** at IREN will play a critical part in safeguarding our organization’s systems and data from external threats. Define access privileges, control structures, and resource permissions to protect our networks and systems:

- Monitor and audit system access to prevent unauthorized activities.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify security gaps and implement necessary solutions to protect the company, it’s Employees and customers
- Upgrade network and infrastructure systems to meet security standards
- Analyze logs, network data, and other attack artifacts to identify vulnerabilities
- Assess current security risks and trends
- Propose and implement strategies to mitigate risks and enhance system stability
- Maintain secure network configurations, access controls, and encryption protocols
- Monitor systems for signs of unauthorized access or suspicious activities
- Prepare performance reports and communicate system status to relevant stakeholders
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve security objectives

**Desired Skills, Qualifications and Competencies include**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent education/work experience.
- Knowledge of programming and scripting languages such as Python, Javascript and PowerShell
- Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks such as SOC 2, CIS, ISO and NIST
- Proven experience in using intrusion detection software such as SIEM products, IDS and IPS
- Ability to quickly identify suspicious activity or security violations
- Certification in CISSP, CEH, CISA, CompTIA Security+ and CISM seen as an advantage

**The IREN Package**:

- Salary from: $85,000 (increases depending on experience)
