Reporting to the Associate Dean, Community Citizenship and Student Leadership, the Student Affairs Liaison, Sexual Violence implements procedural elements related to student respondents named in sexual violence investigations, education and awareness building and developing and delivering programming for students. The incumbent operationalizes elements of Sheridan's new Sexual Violence Policy and Procedure for student respondents. Specifically, they will liaise with the Centre for Equity and Inclusion (CEI) related to implementing interim measures, and corrective action. This also includes the creation of documents for corrective action including warnings, behavioural agreements and suspension letters and capturing related statistics for Ministry reporting. The incumbent also coordinates and leads education and awareness initiatives related to sexual violence, harm reduction and healthy relationships across Student Affairs and in collaboration with other college partners including CEI, Residence and the Sheridan Student Union (SSU). The incumbent implements programming including Sheridan's Dare to Care program, and work with the Sexual Violence Response Specialist to deliver sexual violence and consent programming for students.

What You’ll Be Doing

Handling student respondent files related to non-academic violations to the Sexual Violence Policy;
Serving as liaison between the CEI and a student respondent in a resolution process related to sexual violence, including a formal complaint, interim measures, corrective action and appeals;
Supporting student respondents in complaints, interim measures, facilitated resolutions and appeal processes under the Sexual Violence Policy and related Procedure;
Meeting with student respondents on procedural matters, process clarity, questions and referrals;
Working collaboratively with the Student Rights and Responsibilities Office and Associate Dean to oversee student corrective action including educational sanctions, warnings, no-contact orders, behavioural agreements, up to expulsion and scheduling follow-up progress meetings for student respondents;
Working alongside Sheridan Campus Safety Services and others, when interim measures or corrective action involve removal from campus or trespass;
Screening to identify urgent and complex sexual violence matters that require escalation;
Coordinating related education and awareness across Student Affairs and implementing departmental awareness, training and education based on the student lifecycle;
Working with CEI and student-focussed teams to coordinate violence prevention programming and awareness initiatives;
Developing and implementing student leader training for peer mentors to support peer-to-peer information and resource provisioning;
Leading development and delivery of education and awareness initiatives to students;
Assisting in developing and marketing of educational materials pertaining to sexual violence prevention/response;
Participating on sub-committees to support sexual violence initiatives and education;
Leading education and awareness working group with key stakeholders cross college;
Creating and maintaining accurate documentation and information-sharing processes;
Maintaining sensitive and confidential files and documentation; ensuring proper record keeping;
Ensuring best practice standards are followed with regard to daily documentation, quality of notes, and timely reporting and storage that is based on PHIPPA (Personal Health Information Protection Act) and FIPPA (Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act) guidelines;
Tracking of cases of sexual violence related to student Respondents for Ministry required reporting and campus risk identification to ensure all records are legislatively compliant;
Leading and coordinating awareness events and campaigns including community marketplaces;
Leading Sheridan’s Dare to Care program and related initiatives;
Co-coordinating Student-focussed policy-related education, including proactive and sustained prevention-focused education on sexual violence;
Performing other related duties and projects, as required.
