The Elizabeth Fry Society of Greater Vancouver (EFry) is a charitable organization that supports women, girls, and children at risk, involved in or affected by the justice system. Our programs work to break the cycle of poverty, addiction, mental illness, homelessness, and crime.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Develop and executes financial strategies aligned with overall business objectives in consultation with the Director of Finance.
- Partner with the Director of Finance, Manager of Maintenance & Facilities and the Executive Leadership Team, provides financial support and guidance as required.
- Provide expert support and timely delivery of general accounting, property accounting, budgeting, internal auditing, corporate tax planning, treasury, expense allocation, forecasting, purchasing and financial operations.
- Provide high level financial management and strategic advice to optimize resource utilization, ensuring the organization’s long-term sustainability and capacity to fulfill its mission.
- Interpret and analyze operating results and make recommendations to the CEO for cost reduction and/or improvements.
- Appraise the organization’s financial position and issues on regular and ad-hoc financial and operating reports and forecasts for the CEO and the Board.
- Work with the Director of Finance on establishing budget process and drafting organization wide budgets, forecasts expansions costing and maintains cash flow control; monitoring and makes recommendations on business processes/relationships.
- Maintain awareness of general economic, business, financial conditions, industry, regulatory and taxation issues, and their impact, ensuring proactive solutions and recommendations are provided.
- Oversee contract negotiation, taking a lead alongside the CEO in major contracts and related expenditures.
- Prioritize continuous improvement initiatives across all financial operations in the business.
- Monitor financial policies, internal controls, and audit procedures to ensure proper financial management and safeguarding of assets.
- Work alongside the Manager of Facilities and Maintenance and the CEO to recommend a plan for capital asset replacement and management and expand and diversify the affordable housing program at EFry.
- Oversee the cybersecurity and IT infrastructure of EFry to ensure wise practice, consistent upgrades and effectiveness of the systems across the organization.
- Lead a team of finance professionals, accreditation staff and maintenance and facilities staff and promotes a culture of high performance and continuous improvement that values learning and commitment to quality and the values of EFry.
**QUALIFICATIONS**:
- Over 15 years of experience in finance and administrative leadership in a complex and high growth environment. Non-Profit experience is an asset.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Business, or related discipline. MBA is an asset.
- CA and CPA Designation are required.
- Experience and demonstrated knowledge of non-profit community-based programs and services and applicable legislation.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Training/certification in DEIBJ.
- Experience working in a unionized and non-unionized environment.
- Advanced knowledge of the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) in Canada and fund accounting experience.
- Experience managing and conducting qualitative and quantitative analysis on complex data.
- Demonstrated experience implementing operational plans to reflect the organization’s strategic plans.
- Understanding of Revenue Canada’s corporate taxation regulations and reporting requirements.
- Strong management skills with the ability to provide leadership, direction, coaching and support.
- Excellent judgment, and problem-solving skills with ability to make appropriate decisions under pressure.
- Demonstrated ability to plan and execute accreditation processes.
- Strong organization and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines, high attention to detail and ability to multi-task and exercise independent judgment.
- Strong aptitude for financial systems, experience with SAGE 300, SAGE Intact and QuickBooks.
- Knowledge of preparing and analyzing financial information and general ledger reconciliations.
- Ability to stay current on accounting standards which may impact financial reporting and audit requirements.
- Experience managing capital assets, capital replacement processes and capital campaigns.
- Knowledge and demonstrated experience with fundraising and fund development processes.
