Currently, Bissell Centre is looking for an individual wanting to join the **Administration** team. Are you ready to be our **Program Admin Coordinator **and make an impact in our community?

**ABOUT THE ROLE**

The Program Admin Coordinator role will provide administrative support to the housing, community development, and employment programs to enhance Bissell Centre’s participant-serving efforts. The General Administrator will assist in achieving the strategic goals and objectives of Bissell Centre’s programs.

This position will be required to perform an array of administrative duties including secretarial and receptionist duties, such as arranging meetings and taking minutes during confidential meetings in addition to more complex functions and services such as supporting process improvement and participating in project coordination. This individual is expected to assist with program-related administrative duties such as scheduling staff, ensuring compliance with training requirements among the teams, communicating strategic milestones, and tracking timelines.

**Duties and Responsibilities**

**Administration**
- Provide direct administrative and office management support to the Director, Community Development and Advocacy as well as the Director, Housing and Outreach as directed by verbal or written instruction.
- Have a working knowledge of filing system, be prepared to assemble documentation as requested.
- Support with meetings as necessary, this includes scheduling meetings, booking rooms, creating agendas, taking minutes, and sharing documentation.
- Review documents, reports, and correspondence for format, content, grammar, and spelling, and make edits as necessary.

**Departmental Support**
- Prepare draft reports, PowerPoint presentations, background documentation, and research.
- Support hiring as needed, this might include taking notes during interviews, performing reference checks, following up on background checks, supporting with onboarding, etc.
- Ensure staff compliance with training requirements
- Seek out professional development opportunities for staff as requested, this might include trainings, conferences, and networking opportunities
- Scheduling program staff
- Coordinate Administrative department office activities; troubleshoot or escalate basic office administration issues.
- Facilitate communication from department managers, and project managers.
- Take and transcribe dictation as needed.
- Assist with any planning or implementation documentation and organization.
- Participating in Process Improvement Projects
- Other Duties as required.

**Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities**
- **Education**: Post-secondary diploma in administration or another relevant field or the equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- **Experience**: Minimum of 2 years’ experience in similar and/or relevant position, with an emphasis on administration in non-profits.
- **Sector Knowledge**: Familiarity with issues of poverty and Edmonton’s urban core and knowledge of relevant community and government resources.
