**Job Summary**

The role of Children and Family Empowerment Program Coordinator is essential in efficiently and effectively managing the daily operations of the after-school program catering to vulnerable children in grades 1-9. The Coordinator will oversee the development and implementation of engaging, age-appropriate activities that foster learning, physical activity, and socialization while ensuring the safety and well-being of all program participants.

In addition to overseeing the children's activities, this position requires coordinating parent and caregiver empowerment activities alongside the Family Empowerment Liaison. The goal is to provide support to ensure they are well informed about available resources, enhance their parenting skills, and connect them with parent groups to promote protective factors.

The Coordinator will be responsible for supervising frontline staff in planning, implementing, evaluating, documenting, and reporting all program activities. In addition to overseeing program activities, the Coordinator will assess the program's needs and gaps and collaborate with various stakeholders to develop strategies to address those needs. This includes staying current with trends in program activities and continuously improving program effectiveness.

**Responsibilities Include**
- As the program's primary point of contact, the Coordinator will be responsible for developing and implementing engaging and educational activities during after-school hours and school break camps. The Coordinator will ensure that these activities align with the program's goals and objectives, while providing children with a fun, safe, and enriching experience.
- Staff Management: Hires, trains, and supervises the staff who will work in the children's program. This includes providing guidance and support to ensure the staff is equipped to provide high-quality programming for the children.
- Budget Management: Develop and manage the budget for the program. This includes identifying funding sources, preparing budget proposals, and ensuring expenditures are within the budget.
- Marketing and Outreach: Promoting the program to parents, schools, and the community. This includes developing and implementing marketing strategies, creating promotional materials, and attending community events to promote the program.
- Program Evaluation: Evaluates the effectiveness of the program by collecting and analyzing data on program outcomes. This includes conducting surveys and gathering feedback from children, parents, and staff to identify areas for improvement.
- Safety and Security: Ensures the program is safe and secure for the children. This includes developing and implementing safety policies and procedures, conducting regular safety checks, and maintaining a secure facility.
- Communication and Collaboration: Communicates regularly with parents, school administrators, and community partners to ensure that the program meets the needs of the children and the community. This includes collaborating with other organizations and agencies to provide additional resources and support for the program.

**Qualifications**
- A bachelor's degree in education, child development, social work, or a related field
- 2-3 years of supervisory experience in non-profit organizations
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suites, Google Applications, and databases
- Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills are essential
- Experience working with vulnerable children and youths
- Flexibility to work occasional weekends and evenings
- Current Criminal Record check with vulnerable sector check, Child intervention record check are required
- A valid Class 5 driver's license and a reliable vehicle are required for this position
- Multilingual is an asset
