About the Role

The Coordinator, Fund Development and Events plays a key role in supporting and executing Junior Achievement Southern Alberta’s fundraising and donor engagement initiatives. This role is responsible for supporting donor relations, coordinating fundraising events, maintaining donor databases, assisting in the preparation of funding proposals, and developing social media content. This position offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a team committed to creating impact and expanding resources to support JA Southern Alberta’s mission.

Key Responsibilities

1. Donor Engagement & Stewardship
- Support the cultivation and stewardship of existing donors by maintaining communication and engagement efforts.
- Assist in identifying and engaging prospective donors and sponsors.
- Coordinate donor recognition activities and ensure effective follow-up to enhance donor satisfaction and retention.

2. Fundraising & Events Coordination
- Assist in the planning and execution of fundraising events, including logistics, vendor relations, sponsorship acquisition, and post-event reporting.
- Collaborate with the Fund Development team to develop creative strategies for virtual and in-person events that drive donor engagement and generate revenue.

3. Grant Writing & Reporting
- Research new funding opportunities to support organizational goals and program growth.

4. Database & Administrative Support
- Maintain accurate donor records in the CRM database, ensuring timely data entry and report generation.
- Assist in tracking donor interactions, donation records, and generating thank-you notes.
- Support the Senior Manager in administrative tasks as needed, including preparing reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.

5. Marketing & Communications
- Develop donor-focused content for social media, newsletters, and other channels.
- Support the development of materials to promote donor engagement, including sponsorship packages and campaign messaging.

About You
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in Non-Profit Management, Communications, Marketing, Business Administration, Arts or a related field.
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience in fund development, donor relations, or related roles in the non-profit sector.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with experience in donor relations and event coordination.
- Familiarity with CRM systems (Salesforce or equivalent) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
