Junior Achievement Southern Alberta is seeking a highly motivated Fund Development and Philanthropy Coordinator to join our team. This exciting opportunity offers a chance to make a meaningful impact in the lives of students and support the growth of our organization.

Job Summary

We are looking for a driven individual with experience in fund development, donor relations, and event coordination to support our fundraising efforts and expand our reach. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in cultivating and stewarding existing donors, identifying new prospects, and coordinating fundraising events.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cultivation and Stewardship: Maintain effective communication and engagement efforts with existing donors, ensuring their needs are met and they feel valued.
  • Prospect Identification and Engagement: Identify potential donors and sponsors through research and networking, building relationships to drive revenue growth.
  • Donor Recognition: Coordinate recognition activities and follow-up efforts to enhance donor satisfaction and retention.
  • Fundraising Event Planning: Assist in planning and executing fundraising events, including logistics, vendor relations, sponsorship acquisition, and post-event reporting.
  • Strategic Development: Collaborate with the Fund Development team to develop creative strategies for virtual and in-person events that drive donor engagement and generate revenue.
  • Grant Writing and Research: Assist in preparing funding proposals, applications, and reports for foundations, corporate partners, and government grants.
  • New Funding Opportunities: Research new funding opportunities to support organizational goals and program growth.
  • Donor Database Management: Maintain accurate donor records in the CRM database, ensuring timely data entry and report generation.
  • Administrative Support: Assist the Manager in administrative tasks, including preparing reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Content Creation: Develop donor-focused content for social media, newsletters, and other channels.
  • Messaging Development: Support the development of materials to promote donor engagement, including sponsorship packages and campaign messaging.
About You

To succeed in this role, you will require:

  • A post-secondary degree or diploma in Non-Profit Management, Communications, Marketing, Business Administration, Arts, or a related field.
  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience in fund development, donor relations, or related roles in the non-profit sector.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with experience in donor relations and event coordination.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems (Salesforce or equivalent) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
What We Offer

As a competitive employer, Junior Achievement Southern Alberta provides a salary range of $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. Additionally, we offer a flexible work environment, retirement benefits, and the potential for performance-based bonuses.
