**Position Summary**
Reporting to the Manager of Admissions within the Office of Student Experience and Success (SES),the International Admissions and Conversion Officer (IACO) is a vital member of a broader team spanning SES and SEM accountable for facilitating the admission and conversion of international students. Their key responsibility is to thoroughly examine the admissions recommendations put forward by the International Education Recruitment Teams, verify the credentials, evaluate them based on the established admissions policies, and issue offers of admission in a prompt and efficient manner, adhering to the set targets. In addition, the IACO provides training on admissions to other team members within the Student Enrollment Services (SES) and Student Enrollment Management (SEM) division.

**Responsibilities**
- Ensuring authenticity of foreign credentials and accuracy in determining if a student is eligible for admissions to specific programs.
- Possesses knowledge of secondary and post-secondary systems in Ontario and other provinces or countries.
- Identifies the individual needs of an applicant and when appropriate, re-direct unqualified applicants to advisors and other college resources.
- Regularly monitors admissions reports in relation to set targets including: offer targets, confirmation targets, fees paid targets and day 1 targets and makes recommendations to the Manager to issue additional offers or to close a program.
- The incumbent develops and executes strategies to achieve individual program targets and provides input and recommendations to Manager of Admissions to make exceptions to established guidelines.
- Provides training to other personnel on all aspects of international admissions.

**Qualifications/Experience**
- Three year diploma preferably in such disciplines as Business Administration, International Relations, Communication, Education, Community Development or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Three years of recent and relevant experience working in admissions or enrolment services in a post-secondary environment.
- Experience within a high-volume, deadline-driven, environment that requires high levels of English proficiency in speaking, reading, listening and writing (in order to interpret and explain policies and procedures to clients and customers).
- Understanding and experience in a workplace requiring multi-cultural considerations. Strong attention to detail including solid analytical and investigative skills are critical.
- Demonstrated customer service skills with an ability to diffuse escalated situations in a student/client focused environment
- Knowledge of college programs and structures of the Ontario secondary school system as well as knowledge of other provincial secondary and postsecondary systems, credential evaluation, and detection of fraudulent documents is preferred.
