The utility industry in Alberta is de-regulated which means consumers have a choice of who they want to go with for their electricity and natural gas needs. Regional Energy Inc. is an energy marketing company that supplies electricity and natural gas to homes throughout Alberta. Locally based in Calgary, Regional Energy has become the leading local option for energy in the province. Low fixed rates, great customer reviews, and outstanding service are only some of the reasons why thousands of people are signing up each year.

**Details of Opportunity**:
The Business Development Associate (BDA) is tasked with building a network of referral partners (i.e. mortgage brokers, insurance agents, realtors, etc.) in _Alberta_ who can send new customers to Regional Energy. The referral partner (i.e. insurance agent) earns a commission for each customer who signs up and the BDA does as well. As long as the referral partner continues to send new customers each month then the BDA will continue to earn sign-up commissions each month from any new customers who are referred. Once the BDA has established their network of referral partners they will continue to earn money every month from the new sign ups even though there is no additional effort required

**Duties**:

- Perform outbound calls to potential referral partners in Alberta across various industries and introduce them to Regional Energy
- Highlight key elements of our offers that make Regional Energy the provider of choice for Albertans
- Explain the commission model and tracking methodology to the referral partners and assist them with onboarding

**Qualifications**:

- Previous outbound sales experience (cold calling preferred)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills (English) are critical
- Excellent negotiation and persuasion abilities
- Great with numbers and ability to quickly perform calculations
- Self motivated and results-oriented
- Knowledge of the energy/utilities market is a major plus

**Other Requirements**:

- Proper home office setup away from noise and distractions is required**
**- **BDA needs their own computer, but will be provided with a unqiue phone number on the company phone system. Calls will be recorded and monitored since the freelance BDA is representing Regional Energy when making calls.

**Compensation & Benefits**:
**Compensation Example**

BDA Compensation = $15 for each service that gets approved (pending credit check)

Referral Partners Onboarded: 15

Monthly Services Referred & Approved Per Partner: 15

Total Eligible Services Referred That Month: 225

Compensation: 225 x $15 = $3,375

No benefits as this is a freelance position
