The project coordinator will be responsible for coordinating gardening activities, facilitating capacity-building initiatives for seniors, and fostering sustainable organic agricultural practices within the senior community. This role involves developing and implementing a project that promotes health, well-being, and environmental stewardship among seniors while creating opportunities for intergenerational learning and community engagement.

**Key Responsibility**:
**1.** **Gardening Program Coordination**:

- Plan, organize, and oversee gardening activities for seniors, including training on planting, cultivation, and maintenance of organic gardens.
- Provide guidance on garden design, plant selection, and cultivation techniques to ensure optimal yields and sustainability.
- Monitor and manage gardening supplies, equipment, and resources to ensure their availability and proper use.

**2.** **Capacity Building for Seniors**:

- Design and deliver educational workshops, training sessions, and informational materials tailored to the needs and interests of seniors in gardening and sustainable agriculture.
- Foster a supportive learning environment that encourages active participation and skill development among seniors.

**3.** **Sustainable Organic Agricultural Practices**:

- Promote and implement sustainable and environmentally friendly agricultural practices, including composting, natural pest control, and water conservation.
- Collaborate with local organizations and experts to stay updated on the latest advancements and best practices in organic agriculture.

**4. Community Engagement and Networking**:

- Establish and maintain strong relationships with local senior centers, community groups, and agricultural organizations to foster a sense of community and collaboration.
- Organize events, workshops, and field trips that promote interaction and knowledge-sharing among seniors, caregivers, and other stakeholders.

**5.** **Monitoring and Evaluation**:

- Develop metrics and key performance indicators to track the impact and effectiveness of gardening and capacity-building programs for seniors.
- Regularly assess and report on the progress towards program goals, adjusting as needed to ensure desired outcomes.

**6.** **Documentation and Reporting**:

- Maintain accurate records of program activities, participant attendance, and outcomes for reporting and grant-writing purposes.
- Prepare regular reports to update stakeholders on program achievements and areas for improvement.

**Qualifications**:

- University degree in horticulture, agriculture, environmental science, or a related field
- Experience in coordinating gardening or agricultural programs, especially with a focus on seniors or vulnerable populations.
- Strong knowledge of sustainable organic gardening practices, including soil health, crop rotation, and pest management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with seniors, volunteers, and community partners.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong organizational and project management skills.

**Job Type**: Part-time

**Salary**: $28.00-$30.00 per hour
