Crisis Programs Coordinator

The Crisis Programs Coordinator is responsible for recruiting, training, and onboarding volunteers and support staff for the Crisis Programs, including the 24-Hour Support Line and CASASC’s 24-hour programming support for the Sexual Assault Response Team (SART).
This role involves developing and maintaining training programs based on community needs, sourcing additional training opportunities, and ensuring members are well-prepared to contribute effectively to the organization’s mission. The coordinator will also work closely with various post-secondary schools to host practicum students. Additionally, the coordinator will manage CASASC’s 24-hour programming for SART, including scheduling team coverage and collaborating with hospital staff to ensure patient care needs are met.
The Crisis Programs Coordinator must maintain communication with the Executive Director and the Human Resources Specialist. Duties may change depending on community and agency needs.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Crisis Program (CP) Member Recruitment, Training, and Onboarding:
- Develop and implement strategies to recruit CP Members from diverse backgrounds.
- Screen and interview potential CP Members to ensure they align with the organization’s values and needs.
- Coordinate onboarding processes, including orientation and initial training sessions.
- Maintain up-to-date records of CP Members information, training completion, and performance evaluations.
**Training Development and Delivery**:
- Design and deliver comprehensive training programs tailored to the specific needs of CP members and the community.
- Assess community needs regularly to update and improve training content.
- Ensure training materials are accessible, engaging, and aligned with current best practices.
- Provide ongoing support and mentorship to CP members, addressing any training or skill gaps.
- Identify and source external training opportunities, such as workshops, webinars, or certifications that would benefit CP members.
**Program Development and Evaluation**:
- Evaluate the effectiveness of CP training programs through feedback and performance metrics.
- Provide Executive Director with monthly board reports detailing the operations of the Crisis Programs.
**Practicum Student Coordination**:
- Collaborate with various schools to host practicum students within the Support Line program.
- Schedule, onboard, support, and evaluate students completing practicum hours for certification, diploma, or degree programs.
- Ensure the organization’s criteria meet the parameters and requirements of each educational institution’s practicum guidelines.
- Serve as the main point of contact for schools and students, addressing any concerns or issues that arise during the practicum.
- Provide mentorship and feedback to practicum students, guiding them through their practical experience.
- Track and verify student hours, ensuring accurate completion of required practicum documentation.
**Sexual Assault Response Team (SART) Coordination**:
- Schedule and ensure 24-hour coverage of the Sexual Assault Response Team.
- Coordinate with hospital nursing staff to ensure the needs of patients are met during response efforts.
- Collaborate with nursing staff for the training and onboarding of new SART members and hospital nursing staff.
**Qualifications**:
- Bachelor’s degree in humanities programs such as psychology, sociology, social work, education, or related field; equivalent experience considered.
- Experience in volunteer coordination, training development, or community outreach.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and engage volunteers and students.
- Demonstrated ability to develop training programs and source relevant educational opportunities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other programming.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
**Preferred Skills**:
Experience working with diverse populations and understanding community dynamics.
Knowledge of current trends and best practices in volunteer management and training.
**Working Conditions**:
Flexible work environment with some evening, nights, weekend, and holiday hours required.
Occasional travel for community events, meetings, and training sessions.

Pay: From $24.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 25 per week
