The North Bay Museum is currently seeking applicants for a one year Community Engagement Intern. Under the direction of the Acting Director / Retail and Fundraising Manager, the intern will assist with updating and running museum programming (including online and outreach programming) while supporting museum operations.

**Programming Objectives**:
**The intern will assist with enhancing museum tourism appeal by**:

- Working with artists or other partners to run events during downtown gallery hops
- Assisting with updating marketing materials and digital strategy policies
- Updating events and programs via an online tourism calendar
- Monitoring the impact of new programs and comparing results to pre-Covid program participation.

**The intern will enhance/support educational programming by**:

- Running museum and downtown tours to enhance museum experience for visitors
- Assisting with running existing museum programs
- Expanding programming designed to enhance museum visitor experiences

**The intern will enhance museum outreach programming by**:

- Participating in community events
- Improving online use of museum archival collection by adding to and marketing the museum's online resources (including online exhibits and archival database)
- Assisting and occasionally facilitating museum "Coffee and Conversations" meetings with local seniors with both online and in person meetings

**The intern will assist with enhancing museum exhibits by**:

- Working with museum staff and Indigenous consultants to expand inclusion of more exhibits based on Nipissing First Nation and Dokis First Nation history
- Assisting with researching profiles of local military stories to be featured at the museum

**Other Duties**:
The intern will also support the Acting Director / Retail & Fundraising Manager with other areas of museum operation including retail and museum collections work. Duties will include:

- Working in the museum gift shop
- Entering data into the museum’s collection database
- Digitization of archival materials

**Desired Qualifications**:

- Degree in Education, Museum Studies, or History preferred. Applicants with any degree will be considered when paired with relevant experience.
- Experience working with the public and running programming preferred
- Experience with classroom management and making lesson plans based on the Ontario curriculum an asset
- Experience with event planning and marketing an asset
- Experience working in a museum setting and/or conducting historical research is an asset

**Salary**: $18.00/ Hour with a 37.5 hour work week

**Job Types**: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months

**Salary**: $18.00 per hour
