**Purpose of Position**

The Museum Outreach Coordinator plays a pivotal role in enhancing public engagement and accessibility to the Aga Khan Museum's programs. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Education and Public Engagement, and working closely with the Community Engagement Manager, this position contributes to lowering barriers to participation by bringing Museum programs to schools and communities through various channels including libraries, festivals, school, and community events. The Museum Outreach Coordinator coordinates and delivers outreach programs and sources, prepares necessary program supplies, briefs Museum educators, develops new outreach programs, maintains records of completed programs, and collects statistics and testimonials for reporting purposes. This role involves liaising with community stakeholders to identify outreach needs and ensuring effective program delivery.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Coordinating and delivering outreach programs to extend Museum offerings to schools and communities at their sites.
- Working with the Community Engagement Manager to identify program logistic needs, including but not limited to determining the resources required, coordinating transportation arrangements, and ensuring seamless execution of all operational aspects to support successful outreach activities.
- Briefing Museum educators on program details and objectives prior to outreach activities.
- Developing new outreach programs to address diverse community needs and interests.
- Maintaining a log of completed outreach programs and compiling statistics for reporting purposes.
- Sourcing program supplies and materials, ensuring cost-efficiency and quality.
- Connecting with community stakeholders to understand outreach requirements.
- Collecting statistics and testimonials for reporting and grant purposes, and developing surveys and evaluating programs.
- Preparing supplies and materials for outreach programs and ensuring they align with program objectives.
- Collaborating with the Community Engagement Manager to ensure alignment with overall community engagement strategies.
- Performing administrative duties related to outreach programs.
- Assisting Education staff in other programming areas as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.

**Qualifications & Experience**:

- Bachelor's degree in art history, museum studies, visual arts, education, or related disciplines.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience delivering museum education programs.
- Comprehensive understanding of the role of education and community engagement processes within museum contexts.
- Good knowledge of effective audience engagement strategies and culturally sensitive approaches.
- Experience working with diverse communities.
- Proficiency in languages other than English is an asset.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage with various stakeholders effectively.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and project management abilities.
- Creative thinker with a passion for making cultural and educational resources accessible to all.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, and active listening skills.
- Self-directed, able to work independently and effectively.
- Commitment to continued learning in justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion competencies.
- Ability to work irregular hours as required, including evenings and/or weekends. Some weekend and evening hours are required.
- Vulnerable sector checks will be required.
- Physical requirements may include lifting and carrying supplies and program materials (up to 50 lbs.)
- Must have a clean driving record.

**This position has the possibility of extension contingent upon funding availability.**

**The salary range for this position is CAD $50,000 to $65,000 per year.**
