Support Staff Full-time Appendix D Replacement Contract Position (July 2023 - October 31, 2023)

Reporting to the Director, Teaching & Learning, the Education Technologist Officer supports faculty and program-specific initiatives in the effective integration of educational technology in delivery in various modes (e.g., in-person, hybrid, online) to enhance the student learning experience.

**Responsibilities**:

- Works with Teaching & Learning team, faculty, and other college stakeholders to implement educational technology initiatives (interactive white boards, Hyflex, e-text, BYOD, active learning classrooms, polling apps, etc.)
- Trains faculty on the use of educational technology via workshops, coaching, online self-learning resources (videos, guides, etc.)
- Supports change initiatives by coaching and consulting with faculty technology champions
- Partners with Chairs and other stakeholders on change management plan for faculty development and use, including the collection and analysis of data on technology implementation and the development sharing of best practices
- Supports technology PD throughout the college by partnering with other departments (Online Learning Centre, IT and Learning Resource Centre) to organize and promote recurring and customized learning opportunities online and at all college campuses
- Creates and maintains Educational Technology web presence that houses Conestoga-specific guides, videos, and other resources on current and emerging educational technology
- Liaises with Student Success departments to provide training/support to student service providers on new educational technology initiatives
- Partners with Educational Technology Consultant and Teaching & Learning Consultants to co-develop customized learning opportunities that incorporate pedagogy and educational technology
- Participates in recurring faculty programs to introduce and orient faculty to educational technology
- Creates educational resources (e.g., Creating effective online tests and using analytics)

**Qualifications**:

- Four-year Degree in Educational Technology or Web/Interactive Multimedia Design or a related field
- Three years of experience training and supporting educational technology for faculty in postsecondary setting, including recent experience with the latest educational technologies, e-learning products, and Learning Management Systems
- Experience developing websites and multimedia material using, but not limited to HTML, JavaScript, WordPress, and Adobe CC Suite
- Experience conducting research related to digital pedagogy
- Teaching experience is considered an asset
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including ability to be diplomatic and tactful
- Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgement, and problem solve
- Ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders throughout the college
- Travel between campuses is required
