Administrative Full-time New position.

Reporting to the Executive Director, Governance and Risk, the Policy Advisor will be responsible for managing Conestoga’s Administrative Policy and Procedure framework. The incumbent will chair the Conestoga Administrative Policy and Procedure Committee and act a resource for the Academic Policy and Procedure Committee.

The Policy Advisor will develop an annual administrative policy and procedure plan, maintain the policy database/register, identify policy gaps, develop, and ensure policy and procedures are reviewed in a timely manner and meet Conestoga’s governance framework.

The incumbent will bring expertise in people, process, and technology, and work with internal stakeholders and business units to consult on their policies and procedures to ensure a consistent approach across the administrative functions. Staying current on Government regulations and legislation to ensure Conestoga’s administrative policies remain compliant will be important.

**Responsibilities**:

- Assist in directing strategic policy analysis and development of solutions to meet Conestoga’s strategic objectives as they relate to the higher education sector
- Manage new administrative policy/procedures development with key stakeholders
- Review and update current administrative policy/procedures with key stakeholders
- Work with cross-functional teams and individual administrative departments to develop and maintain policies and procedures
- Bring forth new and updated policy and procedures to Academic Forum and ACC, as required
- Lead and actively manage and/or provide guidance for administrative and Board policies
- Leverage new technology into policy governance processes to maximize efficiency and stakeholder engagement
- Provide information and analysis to improve Conestoga’s ability to make short
- and long-term strategic decisions
- Implement and maintain a new policy and procedure management platform and public website
- Work with key stakeholders to manage and enhance the operational policy governance framework and protocols to meet best practices
- Participate in the Academic Policy and Procedure Committee

Qualifications:

- Four-year degree in Public Policy and Administration, Political Science, Legal Studies, or related field of study
- Seven years of corporate policy administration or related industry experience
- Demonstrated experience leading and conducting strategic policy development and planning in complex, multi-stakeholder environments
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to think strategically and provide timely and effective solutions
- Ability to interact and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders at all levels
- Strong consulting, customer service, and organizational skills
- Ability to meet tight deadlines
- Collaborative style with cross-functional teams
- Ability to research, identify, gather, analyse, conceptualize, and interpret policies, procedures, and other sources of information
- Considerable experience with business process analysis and development, and conducting compliance requirement reviews, specifically for provincial/federal directives, regulations, and legislations
- Strong presentation skills, leadership, and ability to communicate effectively
- Advanced computer skills - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
