Reporting to the Manager, Alumni Digital Engagement, the Alumni Digital Specialist will play a key role in strengthening the College’s alumni connections through innovative social media campaigns. The Alumni Digital Specialist will work closely with the Alumni Experience team to engage the College’s growing alumni community across various digital platforms.

**Responsibilities**:

- Supporting the day-to-day management of the Alumni-specific social media platforms targeting alumni (i.e. LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube)
- Creating and generating content that highlight alumni achievement, events and success stories, and actively moderating community engagement
- Curating user-generated content and alumni testimonials
- Liasing with academic units/departments regarding content, communication needs and the development of effective messaging, and promotes the exchange of information
- Accessing confidential information regarding Alumni profiles for the purpose of developing an understanding of general and specific Alumni groups to inform the creation of proposals, communications, initiatives, and partnerships
- Assisting in the development of strategic and operational plans and campaigns to support department goals
- Contributing to the development of standard processes and guidelines around social media content creation, distribution, and performance evaluation
- Documenting and sharing best practices for technological developments and digital communications based on industry trends
- Working with internal colleagues to ensure legal and legislated standards are upheld (e.g., Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA))
- Contributing to other research and development of social media content, including documentation (e.g. PowerPoint), programming, speeches, media releases, and supports special projects (in person and online) as required

**Qualifications**:

- Three-year (3) diploma/degree in Communications Management, Broadcasting, Digital Media, Digital Communication, Journalism, English, Marketing or a related field
- Three (3) years of relevant experience with communications, digital media, broadcasting and marketing, preferably in an educational setting
- Excellent writing skills with the ability to simplify complex topics into plain, accessible and relatable language
- Demonstrated ability to create compelling and culturally appropriate digital marketing content for targeted audiences
- Experience developing and executing communications plans and strategies
- Ability to adapt to environments/audiences
- Demonstrated interest in community development through volunteering, course work, etc.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and cultural competency
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Familiarity with basic graphic design, photo editing, and digital storytelling are an asset
