**Ivaco Rolling Mills** is looking for a **Heat Stress Coordinator**to join the Team
Reporting to Health and Safety Coordinator, the **Heat Stress Coordinator**must coordinates the daily tasks for the Heat Stress monitors. Contact person for IRM employees regarding Heat Stress during season.
**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Ensures awareness of safe job procedures and provides adequate equipment for the job to be performed.
- Ensures timely, accurate and effective data information in for the Heat Stress program.
- Manages the section activities in a cost-effective manner.
- Ensures confidentiality to the highest level.
- Ensures policies and procedures pertaining to the delivery of heat stress program are followed.
- Responds to heat stress related medical situations.
- Coordinates the tasks of the Heat Stress Monitors and their scheduling.
- Assess the risk areas in both the Steel Plant and Rod Mill.
- Ensures incident responses, reporting and investigation of heat stress related cases.
- Conduct audit and documentation on heat stress related areas.
- Ensures daily assessments of weather (Environment Canada Heat Advisory, etc.)
- Maintains a monitoring plan (who, where, when and how)
- Encourages workers to keep hydrated.
- Keep track of inventory of the cooling vests.
- Performs health and safety data entry in the online reporting tool.
- Performs other duties as required.
- Ensures 24 hours/day coverage.
- Observes all safety rules.
- Ensures compliance to Company regulations and policies.
**SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS**
- High School Diploma
- 2-3 years related industrial experience.
- First Aid Training Level C, CPR and AED
- Comfortable with the Microsoft Office suite.
- Bilingual (English and French) spoken and written. *required
- Open minded and adapt quickly to change.
- Communication, leadership and organizational skills
- Availability for emergency calls-on call.
**CONDITIONS AND BENEFITS**
- Salary: from $24.00/hour - according to experience
- Seasonal job - April to October
- Day Schedule: Monday to Friday - 40 hours / week
- Protective equipment provided.
- Free on-site parking
**PLANT CONDITIONS**
- Industrial environment (heat, dust, noise, height, etc.)
**Job Types**: Full-time, Seasonal
Contract length: 6 months
Pay: From $24.00 per hour
